Alfa Art Gallery - Meet the Artist: Jessica Margo

Having discovered a love for photography during high school, New Jersey native, Jessica Margo, went on to graduate from the Center for the Media Arts, Germain School of Photography in Manhattan. She worked in a commercial still life studio after which she enjoyed a successful media and marketing career. In recent years she reignited her passion for photography and Jessica's work has now been exhibited in several galleries in NJ.
"Frequently in my photography I enjoy exploring urban areas focusing on people and scenes on the street. In the past year, as I’ve been navigating a transition in life I’ve found myself seeking more solitude. During this period, I gave myself the gift of time alone. Going to a beach town during the offseason, I referred to this month as my "artist residency". Shutting down from contact with those I love and truly having free time created an unexpected tension. Working through this discomfort ultimately opened a new artistic channel."
