@@TravelCoupleSA im a city slicker and im thinking of moving to coober pedy because the cheap little houses, whats the place really like? is it very rough with lots of indigenous causing issues? everyone i speak too said they couldnt wait to get out of there even just visiting, is it really that bad? are there lots of gangs of young thugs walking around looking for trouble and break ins all the time? are the police ok? please be honest as i really wanna move to a place like this thats cheap and isolated, im sick of society and the big city
@@petejames1326 A lot of it is just media over-representation of 'Indigenous causing issues'. I was up there for a few days with friends and we were fine, we are Aboriginal too but are lighter skinned and had no issues anyway. If anything the police are more of an issue than the people in towns like these looking for any reason to arrest people. If you are gonna be out at night and are worried anyway I'd say just be with a group of friends or have a big dog or something you will be fine. Maybe spend a few days down there as a holiday just to get a feel of the place and see what you think. In my opinion I feel safer in Aboriginal populated towns compared to major cities in NSW and Victoria where young white kids will run up behind you at night in front of clubs and hit you or stab you in the back of the neck just for looking in their direction.
@@kellogscornflakes2430 i guess your right, im a cab driver by the way so im used to dealing with scum all day of all races, im just sick of the big smoke and traffic all day its too much after 20yrs+, can you get the internet in coober pedy? if you live in an underground dugout would you still get a signal or not really?
if you want peace and nature you will have plenty bro. people are very friendly even the indigenous @petejames1326 too bad my friends there were all junkies and judases though.
Definitely a place I'd love to visit one day, love the landscape and brilliant underground accommodation, Many thanks for your informative movie, a pleasure to watch, Ivor.
Canned sand! Canned sand! Buy some sand before we ran out and it starts to be alike gold! Canned sand! Canned sand! Just 10 € the can, canned sand! Canned sand!
I'm not keen on Coober Pedy as I think it's too remote a bit boring and hardly any greenery. Port Augusta, Port Pirie and the fabulous Clare Valley in particular is a much better South Australian place to visit.
Yes I enjoyed it a lot... When I travel to Australia (hopefully next year) .. I will be looking for inspiration which places to visit on your channel..Thanks again!

Above ground Coober Pedy looks way greener than what we have in the the Southern California Deserts like around the Salton Sea and Death Valley.
How so you know if someone is American? They'll tell you. No one cares about the Californian desert booooo.
