I claimed a nature area in St. Paul, Crosby's Farm, because even though taxes went to maintaining her no one did. After removing 33 plastic bags full of trash i began removing vines and dead limbs. Naturally i would talk friendly to the trees, I'm not an idiot we literally cease to exist without them, and give em a nice pat and "there you go, now grow strong". I started to hear their low frequency. I recall one calling out to me while just taking a walk, like i was known to her, asking for help. She was smaller than I and had a nice spot just off the path, but the grapes had gotten to her and she had 3 years of futility tops before her. I didn't have my clippers and she was to fragile for aggressive removal so i promised to return. Of course I did. And I became part of the land. The dragon and damselflies became quite friendly. The Eagles were at ease while nesting. And gifts started appearing. Like merrel mushrooms and raptor feathers (shhh), and a cleaned buck skull. The wood ducks weren't too skiddish of me and I was called to more enchanted areas i will not mention. Lots of metal she gifted for blacksmithing, but mostly it was peace and belonging i attained... something the stupid world as skant little of.
As Native Americans we believe in the resurrection after death. You are waiting for the world after this, when we will be unlimited immortals. Spirit awaken before the body does. -navy veteran Native American-
