Woohoo! After the hints and teasers from your Granville Island vidclip comments, the much anticipated "VI Tikitour" is 'in the can' and 'on the screen' :-D :-D .
I'm surprised at how BIG VI is! By my rough-as-guts guestimate from my world atlas, it must be some 450km from Vic to Port Hardy, and it's roughly 100km at its widest? Which would make it as big as (maybe bigger) than the entire Netherlands?
@ 01:03 Looks like VI meets my "Biker's Golden Rule of Ride Route Planning" too. "The squigglier and the thinner the (road) line on the touring map is, the Bigger the BGF (Biker's Grin Factor) in its riding thereof". So Port Alberini to Tofino and Vic to Port Renfrew look to be Biker's Blast roads :-D. Do we get the joy of a 'virtual ride' of these roads with you in this series to confirm my conjectures ? Or can any VI resident bikers (Chris?) share what they know of these roads?

The beauty of that area brings tears to my eyes. 30 yrs ago, as a young computer nerd I travelled to Victoria looking for employment. They had no need for more computer nerds. They asked what my wife did ....secretary ... oh, we can get her a job easily! That was a bit of a shock!

Only been to Vancouver Island in the middle of winter for snowboarding on Mount Washington. Beautiful to see other views of the island.

I took a ferry once from Victoria to Vancouver. It was such a cold day that even Canadians were staying inside, haha. I was the only one out on deck having the time of my life looking at one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Enjoy that amazing trip Megan!

I was there 25 yrs ago. I visited some friends in Seattle and we took a day to go for a hike there where there were some hot springs . Saw some whales on the way over while on the ferry. Very beautiful area . Would like to revisit and explore the island more .

I rode up to Canada from Texas in the late 90's, being long haired Harley rider crossing the border was a challenge, was delayed for hours while they searched my bike and belongings. Would go through that again to see the landscapes you've shared with us!

Megan ... I am so envious of you. You live your life, the way I want to live mine. I am working towards that wonderful freedom to be out on the road for weeks at a time.
Your videos are inspiring & I always remind myself, “I can go there too ! I just gotta throw a leg over the trusty ol Versys & go” it’s always packed & ready.
Now we are headed into winter, bike is put away & it’s time for winter camping, ice fishing, snowshoeing & XC skiing.
I will circle Lake Superior in the spring.

What's the going return rate for 1 x motorcycle and 1 x passenger between VC & VI? Can't be any worse than the New Zealand Wellington-Picton InterIslander ferries, surely?

Asolutely stunning scenery Megan, lots of places on my bucket list and BC really needs to be added. Stuck in the region of Murcia in Spain at the minute unable to travel, can only hope there's an end to this pandemic soon. Hoping to do Portugal's route 66 next May, fingers crossed.

I think your video is always beautiful. I also went camping alone last week. Deer, like Canada, can't see, but came back after healing in the small but beautiful rivers and mountains. I sometimes thought of you while camping. I always pray for your safe hiking.

I move away from Vancouver Island many years ago. Got into Adventure riding a few years back. Bought a 2017 BMW R1200 GSA. Turns out i am moving back to the Comox Valley in a few years to retire. Bought a nice 6.5 acre property. Cant wait. I am so looking forward to doing exactly what you have done on the island. Brings back memories. Already planning...lol

Lol, thanks for the clarification. Looking at my bike in the garage is all I can do right now because of winter. Hopefully, next summer it's ok to travel a bit more. There are lots of places in B.C. to see.

Thanks Deano! I didn't encounter any bears, but they are definitely out there, so bear awareness is essential when hiking. I also heard stories about Sasquatch and people going missing in the park, so I was happy to make it back in one piece.
Yep megan l don't think the bears or the sasquatch would bother you they would just carry all your camping equipment for you 🤗👍
