Currently working on becoming an art teacher - I will 100% do this when decorating a tree in my classroom!
Few years back I made a handful of steampunk themed ornaments with those plastic baubles where two hemispheres are separate.
Used scraps of organza and mesh fabrics, and glitter in two different sizes.
Very fun and easy, but still eye catching and unique.
Self-made ornaments just have that vibe that can't be beat.
We have an ornament with my kitty's fur and her collar, and it makes us smile every year we take it out! We lost her so close to the holidays, so it is nice having something on the tree that was part of her.
My husband and I just got married and this year we are making our ornaments out of garbage and left over stuff we have from the wedding. We are both artists so it is so fun.
I always love your ornament videos! ♡ I especially love the pencil Christmas light idea--I always used to have small pencils floating around and extra eraser caps, so I think that'd be a fun way to use them!
Ohh, I love the idea of holding onto your old and used up pencils! Just another way to use your garbage! 🤣

its so reassuring to know that lots of other artists are holding on to their silly little art trash, i always feel like a terrible hoarder with 1 million tiny used up pencils or little paper scraps squirrelled away in my office 😅 these are so cute, i'm gonna plan a date night with my wife so we can make some together :~)
Those origami shirts are adorable, and don't worry Kasey, I love the pencil shaving ornament! That's because I'm weird and love sharpening pencils lol.
I knit, and have started collecting the ends of projects (bits of yarn you cut off when you're done) to put in baubles. It's a fun way to remember what I made throughout the years.
Mass market paperbacks purchased second hand can be cut up and put inside the empty ornaments and are perfect gifts for people who love to read. I have several on my tree.
Okay but the pencil lights are one of the most brilliant things I've seen in a while.

Years ago I filled some up with thread scraps, fabric scraps, crayon shaving or anything else I found around the house.
i LOVE the cat hair ornament!!!!! so clever. and anyone who is grossed out by it or has allergies, it's safely behind glass!
You could make those little markers into earrings too! Also love the pencil lights

the pencil Christmas lights are SO CUTE!!! I think they would be a really great craft for a school classroom. seeing the decorative pencils brought me back to elementary school

Okay fine... I'll get a mini Christmas tree for my art room and decorate it with all my hoarded dead art supplies, I knew I was saving them for something. I was hoping that they would magically fill up again, but this works too I guess

I keep an ornament bulb on my desk to fill with acrylic paint peels from my palette. It’s a fun way to keep plastic out of my trash.

Zo een leuk idee en dan ook nog heel mooi ( ik heb er trouwens al een tijdje geleden met oude kranten knipsels gevuld , mooi en vintage 🤭) en de kat haarbal vind ik eigenlijk een mooi idee , inderdaad betekenis vol en waarom het dan niet zo bewaren , als je niet weet dat het kat haar is zou je denken dat het vilt wol is

These are cool! I recently attempted to do paint pouring on baubles for the first time and....well, it was rough 😂 I learned a lot though so I will definitely try again. I'm also making polymer clay jewellery but I may actually make some a bit bigger to use as tree ornaments.
It's quite frustrating though because these ideas I got from videos like this, which people put out around Christmas time (for obvious reasons) but it's now too late to make some ornaments for this year. I always say "ooooh! I will make some of those for next year!" and then immediately forget their existence until next year's Christmas themed videos are released! 😂 😂
i have so many tubes of paint like this,i cut them with scissors and take out every last drop of it ,you have so much paint still in your tubes use it all please ,i even save the metal of my tubes you can cut them in leaf shapes and draw with a embossing pen ,merry christmas

That cat ball was... something. The rest were pretty good though.
I once made a small christmas tree out of popsicle sticks, Hot glue, a toilet paper roll and this weird glittler glue, i made it when i was like 15 for my eldest sister, im now 24 and she still has it
