The part that stayed strongest with me - "Bread is a matter of life and death! If you can't look after your own, do you expect me to do it for you?" This has so much in it. Themes of codependence and interdependence, kind acts becoming doormats to walk over, lessons in standing up to tyrants, watching closely for body language rather than words, and the wisdom behind seemingly stupid hands. Thank you so much for the story. Beautifully told.
There is deep meaning in the bread of life ✨✨✨completeness comes from extending the bread of forgiveness ✨✨✨Bethlehem means the house of bread and numerically adds up to 490 which is how many times Jesus said to forgive -> it adds up! I love the Gnome - the dragons and the storytelling!!!
This is the greatest & funniest old story I’ve ever heard and probably with the most important lessons to boot. These stories just feel so.. “right”, they click into place in the mind tight as a procision machining and feel like something missing you just couldnt seem to remember until to see it
Resonant with me in this story is the moment of accepting death and deciding to die beautifully. Let me die with the splendour of sound that lifts me, hair by hair, from the underground..
I liked the thread of fire. The apples were red and delicious, but the three boys were drawn in by the fire and the food cooking in the mystery castle. The girls were combing three dragon heads, which represents fire underground. The girls then have to tell the fire the truth. When the truth is restored to the fire, the kings fire is renewed, and he sets things straight, including bringing back abundance.
I love your entrancing telling of tales , and I trust that you know that gnomes truly exist and are good natured if you are polite and undemanding Blessed Be
Being left alone at the bottom of the well resonated the most to me and even more so how the youngest brother found the way back up to civilization by the flute that summoned the gnomes who brought him up from of the underworld. From the chaos, order was restored.. I love your story telling
The flute was the first image that stood out. Then the gnomes lifting the young brothers hairs to float him out of the well. Thanks for another great story time!
I just found your channel and love the emphasis and enthusiasm in your magical way of storytelling. The serpent and the dragons tongues really had an impact on my visions, my experience today watching a bee I had rescued was fascinating. The proboscis looked forked as it touched the sugar water I had put on the tip of a leaf and my imagination was flashing back and forth from dragon to bees (haha) Dragon’s tongue can grant magical powers in many mythologies aswell as the magic of the elements…fire features a lot and dragons breathe fire, earth and water when they go deep underground and the well. Air and aether when he floats up by his hair (and the bee for me) Just brilliant! 😀
Thanks for a great story and captivating performance. The youngest brother was rewarded for thinking for himself. Not being polite or well behaved. Very good advice! Great channel!
Amazing story! Thank you for sharing it so beautifully 👏🏼. I'm keen to read up on the symbolism. Do you know any sources that study this tale and interpret it?
On that story specifically? Not off the top of my head. But there’s heaps on the symbolism of fairy tale in general. Maria Warner (not my cup of tea but hey) Joseph Campbell obviously, Robert Johnson, Martin shaw, and of course jung and the jungians. Have a peruse!
3 daughters, 3 brothers, 3 dragons heads. Also its when you fully let go that the thing you desire appears. Easy to say but not always easy to do. A good reminder.
I have a personal experience in a drum journey where I learned to tame my own dragon (which apeared when my spirit animal the snake traveld in my body and I rised up and walked). My question was: How do I get power to make my marriage better. And THEN the dragon said: Lower your tale, soften your eyes and make a pause before you send your fire out. "But how", I asked. Learn to se, talk and hear with your heart, the dragon told me. That makes me think of all the fary tales (Beowulf also) and I intepreted them in an other way now.
Love the evocative power of the flute to summon the spirits of earth light. And the time to not make music and the time to make music. That the time to make music is between the brink of death and the reemergence of life.
The images that stood out to me: Apples rotting on the tree Floating back up the well Kind in the luminal space listening I will think on this more. Thank you for your lively telling 🤍🐉
Hey, @theStoryCrow! The way you told that story about the Princess and the Hunter who fell down a Well sounded like a doaist/quantum description of an Atom. Nice
I very much liked this story. great desrcription of the personalities of children in the beginning with the apples. I almost choked on coffee, laughing and thinking of my 3 nieces. Especially, the youngest. 🤣 thanks man.💚. Until the next time....
I am so happy this channel came up when looking up fairy tales!!!!!!!!! Finally authentic storytelling, this is pure jackpot. That heartwarming intro about the 'medicine tales' - exactly what I have been looking for. The stories in their very pure old forms. Thank you for making this!! P.S. Collecting? Rarely. It only took two generations for the oral heritage to die in my part of the world. But spreading, yes. Hoping the next generation or two won’t be so impoverished and luckily the vine of oral storytelling culture hasn’t totally died so we can revive it 🐦⬛✨☺️
@@TheStoryCrowOh yes, by 'collecting' I more imagined you'd be diving deep into some libraries or so :D This is quite inspirational really - to keep on telling stories, knowing there's people still so passionate about that free oral storytelling. I have recently taken a photograph of a gnome, at the bottom of a giant rock wall, which happens to lay above the largest gold producing gravels of the sierra mountains in California.
