That's a theory, maybe I'm understanding it wrong, but I'd like to think that since William said his soul is split in two, they are two parts of a whole. So yes they are William, but not the same aspects of him. A bit like the yellow and the yolk of the same egg. (Trying very hard not to use Sanders Sides as a reference because I'm not sure if it's not exactly the same thing ^^;)
He may have been a piece of William originally, but is now his own being. What he lacks is empathy. If William's Soul hasn't healed, could he reabsorb the piece in Glitch?

i actually like this interpertation, see, *this* is how you do an au correctly you dont change something just for the sake of a ship, its used so glitchtrap makes sense in an au like this, although i feel like something cooler for burntrap in your au would be instead of an illusion, he is a body made by vanny using springtraps parts so glitchtrap has a more physical appearence, but thats just an idea, do whatever you want.
I actually like this version of “they aren’t the same” because technically they are. Instead of the stereotypical “Glitchtrap isnt William and he controlled William” this is, “they aren’t and are the same. William still killed kids willingly, but then grew to regret. But was still striving to save his kids and be immortal. So he made a version of himself that can’t feel regret.” I love it. It’s so unique and original!!

That would totally be awesome to watch though. Glitchtrap will definitely have no problem making them all suffer. Plus, he was tortured in prison, lost his family and he realized how much of a bastard he was. The whole purpose of a punishment is to make them see the error of their ways and make sure they never do it again. Does William regret it? Yes. Does he take responsibility? Double yes. The kids took it too far. Mainly Cassidy and Fritz. Even Susie and Gabriel thought so. I’d also like to point out that the Missing Children have killed more people than the Afton Family COMBINED, and got no karma for it. So if William deserves to suffer for 30+ years for the murder of 6 kids, they deserve to be tortured for a millennia. That’s the logic I’m seeing. I’m not justifying William’s actions, but he got what he deserved already. He’s one of the few people to actually take responsibility for their actions even. So yeah.
This is the reason I love your Au because you put soo much effort on the main characters and the background characters and you make good characters to hate on,and even do your Au has a mix with the stereotypical Au its still good because of the originality you mixed in. Different medium, but the end desire is the same: to tell a story. Actually, I think you've inspired me for something I can do in of the D&D style fantasy ones... I'll need to do some more research to see how well the set up will work with the extant internal lore or if I need to modify anything, but...I think I can make the idea work... Does Glitch have any form of Present Will’s memories? Why does Glitch want remnant? Does he realize that he isn’t the real, or the original piece of William? Could Will regain that piece of soul Glitch has? How did Will know what Glitch was up to before he died? Does anyone else know about Glitch? Where does Vanny come into this story? Why doesn’t Glitch just kill Gregory himself? Can Glitch even die? If so, who will he be judged as? William? A whole separate entity? Has Glitch seen his family at all? How did William embed powers into an animatronic? Would Glitch be closer to the William that most people create him as in the fandom? I have many more questions, but I have no idea how long it’s going to take, so imma just stop here

So william built glitchtrap and the split his own soul and inserted it in the the glitchtrap anamatronic therefore creating him and being him at the same time. This au just keeps getting better and better and I'm excited to see what happens next.
Also me if I was William in this situation I would bring some of Clara’s past mistakes just to break her but..then I would sign her up as a second night guard (like Michael/Vanny) just to let her experience what they’ve been doing.

I had confusion about this only, like I searched everywhere, Some says that glitchtrap is William's brother Vincent etc. Uhm, I think that you are right, William created him and he is responsible for the death of the missing children.
Vincent is not canon, he was created by the Gacha Community for their AUs. And before that Vincent use to be another name for Purple Guy before the devs and Scott confirmed Purple Guy is William Afton. So anything Vincent is non canon.
So glitchtrap is effectively a backup of william with a little extra nigel...

So william built glitchtrap and the split his own soul and inserted it in the the glitchtrap anamatronic therefore creating him and being him at the same time. This au just keeps getting better and better and I'm excited to see what happens next.
Also me if I was William in this situation I would bring some of Clara’s past mistakes just to break her but..then I would sign her up as a second night guard (like Michael/Vanny) just to let her experience what they’ve been doing.

I had confusion about this only, like I searched everywhere, Some says that glitchtrap is William's brother Vincent etc. Uhm, I think that you are right, William created him and he is responsible for the death of the missing children.
Vincent is not canon, he was created by the Gacha Community for their AUs. And before that Vincent use to be another name for Purple Guy before the devs and Scott confirmed Purple Guy is William Afton. So anything Vincent is non canon.
