Garth Marenghi's Darkplace Episode 6 Part 3

- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2007
- In the 1980s horror writer Garth Marenghi wrote, produced, directed and starred in Darkplace, a groundbreaking series set in a hospital and exploring the depths of the author's imagination. At least that's what Marenghi and his publicist/co-star, Dean Learner, claim in modern-day interviews which both bookend and interrupt the episodes. In fact the show is cheap, chiché'd, full of gaping plot holes and startlingly misogynist. Garth Marenghi is a creation of comedian Matthew Holness, who won a Perrier award with the character at the 2001 Edinburgh festival.
Sorry this is so short, I had a problem with the original video. - Приколы
I've just watched all 6 episodes in two days and I had forgotten how brilliant and underrated it is, from a time when Channel 4 made good tv programmes. Sadly not anymore.
i concur
"You and he were...buddies. Weren't you? Need I say more. Need I say more..." Just genius.
So sad its the last one. But so happy they made five others. Best show of all time.
Oh man, these 6 episodes were some of the greatest things ever. The guy who plays Dean Learner is definitely one of my favorite comedy actors.
haha he doesn't refuse Sanch's dream catcher offer even once, only pauses for him to say wait...possibly one of the most brilliant series crafted
Why didnt you just say wind chimes? 😆
Someone needs to start a petition to bring this show back
I always get a little sad watching this episode because there aren't any more to watch after this :(
when sanch says "For saving my life" I can't stop laughing. It's so hilarious.
He loves wind. And he loves the sound of twinkling. And he loves you.
Thanks a million & ten for putting these up!
Garth, You MUST make Darkplace into a Feature film. It would shit on the competition.
It sucks that they only made six episodes. T.T
i watched this show once at a friends house under the influence... i felt like my mind was going to explode from overthinking. i was so lost.
something about the dreamcatcher exchange cracks me up every time.
I love that at 3:24 Thornton has a bandage on his hand from screwing something up in surgery.
That last piece of music, where Sanch thanks Dag for saving his life, is just magic.
noooooooooooooooooooooo give us more. 6 episodes is not enough!
Reed: 'we're seeing a dumbing down of television' . Too true
4:39 everything that learner has said is really sadly coming true
"Sanch will love this...
he loves wind...
and he loves the sound of tinkling...
...and he loves you!"
"She's all yours, guys." - AHAHAHAHAHA!
I hope they make a Second Series of Darkplace.
of course it would be amazing, however it's been, what, over 25 years since they first did the show? And who would play Liz (R.I.P.) and also, I hear that Dean Learner has long since sold the garage in which they filmed the original series.
I laughed. And cried. And shit myself at the same time.
steven king and clive barker dean koontz man these guys need to take a lesson from this horror master or just bow out gracefully
I just realised something... Julian IS the Priestman!
this is my fave episodeeee!
:P
Spot on with everything you've said.
i wish there was more
Are there any more of these? i realy love them.
My favourite show ! :-)
that was fantastic, just watched them. think im going to burn them, and show them to my friends. my new favorite show...
sexiest piece of broccoli i've ever seen.
...and please, great god of tv and programme making:
BRING BACK DARKPLACE FOR ANOTHER SERIES!!!
will there be another season? thanks for posting these! i'm from the USA so we dont' get good tv like this!
Wow, it's to hear that! There have been great, classy and intelligent American comedy shows- the problem is that they have all been canceled before anyone got to see them. Arrested Development is the worst recent example I can think of right off the top of my head.
As a horror writer I dont ask for much. I just hope I've changed the way you think about life!
what a genius
Did Stephen Merchant reprise his role as the a cook for just that small scene or did a doppleganger take his place?
He's a good kid. You're going to have to keep him off the smack though or this'll keep happening.
im sad that this was the last ep =(
MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (please)
he's a good kid. you gotta keep him off the smack though otherwise this'll keep happening! haha
thanks alot mondonitis!
Gawd, I love this series. I wish there was more, but it might be too rich, like two helpings of rice pudding.
i beg your pudding?
@@TheWaynos73No, how many times do I have to tell you people, that's not my bag!
With this show i wanted people to laugh and cry... and shit themselves. lolllllll.
classic
before big brother poisoned tv, channel 4 would have been behind this show.
No, he's just leaning on the cane with that arm, which is why that shoulder is higher, and he's hyperextended his elbow -- he must be a bit doublejointed. Nothing to fear there :)
Garth Merenghi's Darkplace is a Garth Merenghi production. Inassociationwithdeanlearner
man to man with dean learner. There are two eps up on yt I believe.
wasnt there a days of our lives episode where a scene was missin
"With this show, I wanted to make people laugh... and cry... and shit themselves at the same time."
the show wasn't really made in the 80's . garth marenghi is really matthew holness and dean lerner is richard ayoade.
There was a spinoff and I think they were talking about a movie, but I think for the most part its finished.
@lordstarfish that means you can backtrack ten 'thanks' and still have completely thanked him
i wnted to make people laugh, and cry... and shit their pants at the same time.
XD LMFAO
One tracker lover is a well good song
That's actually a dream catcher with a wind chime attached to it.
my ass is grass and he's got a lawnmower
he stops before he says "wait" rofl. funny acting ;D
"they tried all the positions: on top, doggy, and normal"
well said! the Americans even tried to do their own version of Red Dwarf which was an EPIC FAILURE....
haha, at 3:04 Dag waits before Sanchez says his line ....
that Linda ... mmm
and there is really only 6 episodes there is just a lot of fake backstory put out to promote it. i hope they make more
2:19 wierd, Sanchez's head looks like its on backwards
@Rita3500 I know!! I just started watching this show on Adult Swim-- it's so great :D
As a writer I don't ask for much. I only hope that I change the way you think.
what was the spinoff called?
Reading.. Literacy.. Numeracy.
The 3 L's hahaha.
No Dr. Sanchez, you need not say anymore. Ha!
There's an online petition for there to be a 2nd season. I wanted to put the link but RUclips won't let me, even by writing (dot) everywhere XD
Just google "savedarkplace", click the first result, and it's on the bar to the left.
Are there only 6 eps?
yes. typical of channel 4 now that channel 4 is owned by big brother
Why is Sanchez' head backwards
hell yeh 2 that
Need I say more... need I say more... ...
Anyone who didn't cry during that is a robot...and having said that, I know for a fact that a robot would rather rust than to no cry at that episode. And robots don't have hearts. Or tear ducts for that matter. So if you didn't shed a tear (even if it's from your eyes watering because u just watched all 6 episodes in a row in the dark), what is wrong with you? MacGyver cried.
Yessir. You wouldn't need to be told to eat your greens twice.
-> Chuckle Guffaw Giggle.
[Ahem/Apologies]
well that was proper fuckin genius.
lol @ "literacy, numeracy... the three L's, are in decline..."
Pork pie/sausage roll
Berry can hyperextend his elbows.
@DrAardvarkian
You guys do know jechichi is just winding you up, right?
you can blame big brother for killing channel 4 and this show
The cook's made it... just. And now he's going to boil Linda... Or he... could... steam her.
No. I want Richard Ayoade to keep doing The IT Crowd.
literacy, numeracy; the 3 L's are in decline. Brilliant.
America copies all these once off classic shows, gives them far too much exposure, adds their lame sense of humour to it, and ruins the entire franchize.
And then Australia being America's bitch will probably make our own version as well.
The reason Darkplace is so awesome is because there's only 6 classic episodes, which leaves you wanting more. If you get more you'll get bored of it and stop watching.
lol teacurry, has it occured to you at all while watching this series, that garth sometimes exaggerates and misleads as part of his character. given that this press release also mentions that the show was filmed in the 1980's and hasn't been aired till recently, blah blah.. is this a clue to you that 50 episodes might also be wrong ya think?
its better than american, for shizzle
nope
hello linda. you look betta.
How so? British TV hasn't the resources to give this brilliant concept the time and money it deserves, so I say we let our trans-Atlantic friends take a crack at it.
Possibly the worst edit of a fantastic programme.
When an American show is funny, it's funny. When it's hilarious, it's hilarious ;)
America copies all these classic foreign TV shows, adds their sense of humour to it and just ruins the entire thing. If something is funny in a British version, why not just enjoy the British version?
And the second season to most shows like this is usually a complete fail. The magic would have gone and the jokes would sound the same, there would be a very slim chance of a second season doing well.
to call american humour 'lame' is being a little narrow minded. Some of the most horrific, unfunny comedy shows I've seen are british. Think 'my family', or 'two pints of lager'. Nonetheless, when british humour is given creative freedom, it can become a classic show. Like the office, or this. oh, and only having a short run can add to the wonder of a show.
Without a doubt the dumbest idea ive ever heard.
Calling the American SOH "lame" is childish and erroneous. Yes, some of their comedy shows are terrifically unfunny, but so are many British ones - and when an American show is funny, it's completely hilarious.
And, dude, if all shows that last more than 6 half-hour episodes bore you then maybe you should get checked out for ADD.
I would love to see an American version of this show. Longer episodes, long seasons, same deadpan sense of humor but with a Yank twist.
That sounds like the worst idea ever. Have you never seen an american remake of a british comedy? They always fuck it up
