In 1983, Axl Rose fell in love with an 18-year-old stripper, owner of a brothel, who dreamed of forming a rock group and calling it Rocket Queen. Her name was Barbie Von Grief. Although this young girl went on to record some albums, she never succeeded as a singer, but she inspired one of the most iconic songs of the Gun N' Roses, who in her honor named her "Rocket Queen". Lover Axl Rose stated on one occasion that at the end of the song he wrote a special message for her and also tattooed his face on his right arm, a tattoo that still preserves to this day, despite being together for only two years: "I wrote this song" for a girl who had a band called Rocket Queen. She kept me alive for awhile. The last part of the song is my message to her, or anyone who can take something out of it. "It's like an atmosphere of friendship and hope at the end of the song."
