Capt as always you do a terrific job with your videos, thank you! A small titbit: If you are on Windows 11 and are tired of Windows update overwriting the Prolific Driver for the SCU-19 digital cable, you can get rid of SCU-19 cable all together and use the RT Systems programming cable instead that has much better driver support for Windows 11 (or any other version of Windows) and dump Prolific that has always had terrible support and problems with all versions of Windows (and other OS's, i am multi-OS). Hope that helps. Yes, i watched your other video on how to re-install the older Yaesu Prolific drivers, but that only works until the next Windows update (which is often these days).
Thanks for this video. It's the first one that made it clear how to use this confusing mess. One question, how are you able to connect to America link, which is digital and analog using Direct mode? Even the manual says you can only connect to digital only rooms in Direct mode but you're clearly doing it here. I can't connect to America Link and get an error about it being digital and analog.
I’ve followed your video but can’t connect to a room (the screen is populating with rooms). I keep getting promoted “ no audio check transceiver”. And also can’t connect to a room, any thoughts?
I have followed your instructions several times. Work fine until I open the wires-x software. The box on the top right. Idle digital; red "on-air lock"; local ft3d radio 1; box below that "transeiver mode:digital/digital None of the options under "Connect" on top left menu line are highlighted so I cannot select them. Two boxes below them are fully populated. Any suggestions? I have also had issues getting audio How's this for a few challenges?
Digital transceiver error reset. code=1050100 is the error code i get when my radio is connected. The software does recognize the cable and radio but I have no wires-x connection in pdn direct mode.
hi.. I can no longer hear the audio using the wires-x software.. I can transmit but no audio in reception.. just a "click". I tried to load the latest version of the program, the latest version of the drivers for SCU-19... but nothing. I tried on three different computers and no improvement.. Hi Daren I’m thinking on getting involved with wires X and C4FM . I’ve an FT991a I purchased back in summer 2022. Really haven’t put it to best use, since I bought a FTDX10. My delay has been due to not having a Windows laptop I have 2x 2012 Apple Mac pro’s. I’m attempting to split one to allow windows OS be able to access the Yeasu software. And then link to a zumspot. All complicated I’ve plenty of ambition just a lack of enthusiasm. I’ll get there. So assuming it take a few weeks I may contact you in the future. Stay tune as I do to your excellent channel. Found this out from Yaesu Tech support, if you install everything and it says not able to connect, plug anything into the mic jack on the sound card of the computer, this is for 400 mobile rig. And you will be up and running!
Can you please confirm that the Yaesu FT-60R's WIRES is obsolete? That it doesn't work at all, and that it's not WIRES-X? I have one, and its operating manual consistently refers to its WIRES as just WIRES -- not as WIRES-X. I'm assuming I'd need a different Yaesu like your FT3D (sigh). I'm cheap, I don't plan on buying another ham radio until I've squeezed every use out of my FT-60R (which at least once (using an Ed Fong rollup J-pole antenna) had a strong clear exchange with a repeater 30 miles away!
Hi Darren, thanks to your instructions I installed Wires-X on my WIN 10 laptop with the SCU-19 cable and it runs perfectly. I also use the MH-34 on the device. Then I installed it on my WIN 10 PC, the installation was smooth but after startup it says "Not found the Audio device for the WIRES-X use." The device is connected but the Connect field is greyed out. I have also plugged a connector into the mic jack, but that didn't change anything. Cap-e-tan. Thank you I got straight up and working on the FT5D, I even hand the speaker mic to hand. If yourself or anyone else could help, the cable kit is the SCU-57 which includes speaker and microphone cables for both digital and analogue signals, does not using them mean I will be missing the analogue signals?
Capt. Darren, I have tried to register for a wires-x room/node whatever you want to call it, where it asks for your email address, there is one already populated in there and it can't be changed... Is that normal or have I done something wrong? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks! Mark W5HSJ.
Mark, here's what I found on the internet: 1: Login to the Wires-X website at www.yaesu.com/jp/en/wires-x/index.php and enter your User ID and Password. Your User ID and Password were sent to you when you registered on the Wires-X network. IF you cannot recall the user ID or Password you can click on the Forgot your Member ID? Or Forgot your Password? and follow the prompts. You will be sent an email reminder. Once Logged in you will see a page like this, with “Logged in as” with your Node ID in the Blue Box The 5th Menu item on the Left hand side is labelled “Changing the Registration information about your node “. Clicking this will show the information for your node. At the top of the page is an orange box labelled “Cancelling Membership”. Selecting this box opens a confirmation page like this. Clicking the “Agree to Cancel” will deregister your HRI-200 box and delete your Node information. To use the HRI-200 with different user details, you will now need to register the unit again on the Wires-X server as before.

Cap'n Darren... In this video the "Connect ID Window" (the blue floating box with Call Signs) is huge. On my Wires X software it is so tiny I can't make out the call signs. Did you enlage this box? How? This is driving me crazy. Also, when I'm connected to a room, it simply drops out after a period. It varies, but around 10 minutes or so. Then I can re-connect just fine and later it drops out again. Any ideas? Love your videos...
@Frank Bates With the size of those boxes, try to adjust your monitors display size. I don't remember my setting and don't have my Dell Inspiron laptop with me this time while I'm traveling. I don't know why it drops out, I've experienced that every now and then.
Yes, you need to have these cables to use for Wire-X. I'm not positive if the RT System programming software cables are the same. Maybe someone here may answer the question.

I don't think the handheld is transmitting RF while connected in Wires-X Mode. I believe you would need a hotspot to connect another radio into a wires-X room. Don't quote me on that though. I have my FT3D on the shelf for a year and haven't done Wires-X in a while.

Hello Grafica Mil Colores, to tell you the truth, I'm not sure of that. Maybe someone can replay or perhaps, also ask the "Yaesu FT-3DR Users" private group on Facebook.
You would have to setup the radio as a PDN Access Point. It will be like operating a repeater however, you must have another radio to use to talk to the PDN Access Point Radio. That's why I have my Hotspot, I have the hotspot configured to what Digital Room you want to monitor (America Link) and use my FT3D to walk around the house and walk to the park.

I have no issues in the beginning. 2 weeks ago, i noticed that my ft3d when connecting to wires x, it just stay in FM node and not in DN mode. I'm using a Windows 11 home edition. I don't know why your having problem. Can someone provide guidance? Verify your using 64bit or 32bit version depending on your computer.

I agree with you 100%. Sometimes my hand covers the tiny microphone on the FT3D and I get reports that my audio sounded muffled.

I haven't tried. In concept, it should all be left on though.
Can you walk around outside
and have like a hotspot
You would have to setup the radio as a PDN Access Point. It will be like operating a repeater however, you must have another radio to use to talk to the PDN Access Point Radio. That's why I have my Hotspot, I have the hotspot configured to what Digital Room you want to monitor (America Link) and use my FT3D to walk around the house and walk to the park.

Verify your battery is fully charged. Check all the connections and verify your in PDN mode. Perhaps, reload the drivers again.

No, it's a separate cable that you have to purchase.

Hmmm? Did you hold down the "back" and "X" button while turning on the radio?

Hello Polo, You should also be able to install the Wires-X program on your desktop.

i did set everything as you said on the video but i'm stock with my radio on wires x screen. How i can get my radio to normal ?
