This film is top shelf. There is not a single thing I would change about it and I think Tangerine Dream’s score truly is one of the irreplaceable components that made it so fantastic. The music is so much part of the movie, the emotions, the story. It’s almost like an actual character.
Yes indeed. I think any good score is a character as you pointed out. I thought similar things about Miami Vice. Risky Business remains one of my favorites.
@@kareystone2285 I didnt know that. But im guessing the producers had heard their recent albums , some of which had elements and even exact riffs used in the film.
I’d have to agree. Risky Business is the perhaps the perfect movie. That said, think it’s the perfect movie for all us that were teenagers in the mid 80’s. I watched this movie religiously on HBO the summer after it was released. I had a great group of friends from high school that I ran around with during that time. We were young, great, and as ‘Guido The Killer Pimp’ say’s-“Time of your life.....huh kid?” Truer words could not be spoken. This movie will forever remind of the innocence of life, and appreciate those carefree moments when I was young.
Every time I hear Love on Real Train it transports me to so many places, I just wish that Tangerine Dream would release the actual tune used in the movie and on the end credits!!! Great Work!!!
There were lots of zitflicks about horny teenagers back in the '80s but this one stands out among all of them. It was slick. It was cool. It had great acting, a great cast, and the fact that Rebecca De Mornay was a goddess didn't hurt its appeal. Another reason that it was so good was the soundtrack. From the first notes in the opening credits, you knew that you were seeing and hearing something special.
One of the Tangerine holy grails. As with Sorceror, they still haven’t released the full score. If only some boutique vinyl label would dig it up and put it out there.
I have the Risky Business soundtrack on vinyl? I might even have "Sorceror" on vinyl. Or maybe I misunderstand your comment. Either way, one of my top five bands ever.
Great film with a great soundtrack. Tangerine Dream have an immense catalogue of music - some good, some bad, some bloody fantastic. Thank you Edgar RIP

YES!!! I saw it when I was twelve on Martha's Vineyard; none of the teen films are appropriate for teenagers except for The Outsiders and Tex with Matt Dillon maybe. Meatballs with Bill Murry is probably okay The Breakfast Club perhaps. And Kids from the 90s was also wildly outrageous.
Some of this music reminds me of the original Mass Effect soundtrack! Wait....This sound like the old 2006 Beta gameplay trailer music? I love Tangerine Dream kind of music!
One of TD's best scores blended perfectly with the movie. Flawless. Several tracks presented here are still unreleased to date which is a pity as many expected it to be released in the BOX SET.

I've been a TD fan since seeing this movie on Martha's Vinyard when it was new and FIRESTARTER-1984 the following year. Awesome 👌
