When Alexandre performed the Impromptus at London’s Wigmore Hall in 2014, The Guardian wrote: "Tharaud closed with Schubert's Four Impromptus D899, which he did wonderfully well …He got to the heart of the beauties and abysses of this music. The disorientation and the grace of the C Minor Impromptu was marvellously judged, while the snarling left-hand trills that threaten the calm of the G flat Impromptu left a sense of unease that lingered long after its great melody had died away."

Une très belle interprétation. Les contrastes sont obtenus par les différentes couleurs, et non par des variations de volume. M. Tharaud est particulièrement attentif à la sonorité. Notons que l'instrument a été merveilleusement préparé et bénéficie de l'enregistrement soigné.

An observation after watching several videos here... So many of Warner Classic's promotional videos contain no identifying branding or labelling within the actual video footage; very strange for a marketing effort not to include such labelling.

Magnifico! Non capisco, però, perché fare un video in una vecchia fabbrica. Questo tipo di musica nasce per ambienti piccoli, piccole sale con un'atmosfera intima. Bisogna ripensare un po' al marketing!
Pleasant performance but over produced video. Music gets lost in all the lighting and attention to detail of space. A music video should be about the music, not the director's vision.
Absolutely gorgeous playing. But why does the recording studio look like an abandoned warehouse? It actually reduces the visual pleasure of watching him perform.
