    personally as a french i read 6/10 non professionnal books per year, around 300 in 40 years.

    the most famous French author is Victor Hugo, because everyone else knows about him or Les Miserables. just like the most famous French artist is Claude Monet, because he is a household name all over the world

      Yet the second-most translated writer ever is Jules Verne not Hugo (first is Agatha Christie).

    Over all I respect France and French culture but it’s so ignorant when they think that they are the best. I enjoy more Spanish and Italian language and culture. Greek is also just as beautiful.

    I notice that reading is very male-focused.
    I'd rather be watching whatever.
    Because non-fiction topics are very lengthy.
