I decided to play "almost" every Bloody Roar games for the first time :') (Click Show More) Sources: • Bloody Roar 3 Opening ... • Bloody Roar 2 Yugo Story
22:15 seems a good mechanic until you notice you can turn beast, spam specials, turn beast again, beat up your friend, let your meter go down, lose some health, turn beast again, beat him up, die, revive due to the beast auto transformation, beat him up again. And yes, in the hardest difficulty the AI lives this way, but instead of waiting for you to deal damage it trades their health for beast meter, not near op. The reason i played this game a lot was, to unlock the characters there's a special mode that you store skill points, upgrade the character skill sets, stats and even hp recovery... then you get the rest... you have to get 100k points to win the dragon Ryoho the most op that tank the attacks, but, did i mention the maximum ammount of skill points per battle is 500? Yeah, i spent almost 2 days grinding until i completed the mode and still had 20k missing, and by repeating a fight you now win (i think) 100 instead of the 200-300-400-500 skill points.... But i like it, there are more 2 special attacks compared to bloody roar 2, but the combos are mostly the same, so in means of game balance in bloody roar 2 you can lower the damage output in the settings, but it only works for you in the arcade mode, bosses have insane damage still, but in VS mode it's for both players. Can't remember if 4 has this setting. Amazing work, and great description. I like it.
Fun fact, the second game got a redub courtesy of the absolute legend that is Casey Mongillo! They voice this incarnation of Bakuryu, and their friend and roommate Kira Buckland voices Uriko. We also have such gems on board as Lisa Ortiz who does Jenny, Kaiji Tang voicing Long, Kayli Mills as Alice, Edward Bosco playing Yugo, and _Xander freaking Mobus_ as Shenlong. It's great.
@@BlooTeg Well she was the voice of Amy Rose and she did the 4Kids version of Winx Club. Also she is a voice director of Pokemon anime she also does voices too in the Pokemon anime
I remember being fascinated by this game as a kid but couldn't quite remember what the deal was. Then my neurons fired up like lightning when you demonstrated it: You could kick people off of platforms. I absolutely love kicking people off of high places and send them tumbling to their deaths (in video games). Any game where you can do it, from GTAs to Dying Light and all the way back to the old Medal of Honor games where enemies killed near railings would flail over absolutely trigger some deeply seated segment of my brain and inject a big load of dopamines into the wrinkly blob in my head. I was obsessed with it when I was a kid and I still do it any chance I get as an adult (in video games). I can't be sure but... I think this game is where it all started.
I remember there was an extra Bloody Roar. It was called Bloody Roar Extreme. It was the same as 4, but without Ryoho, Nagi and Reiji. But, it had Uranus and Chronos unlocked.
Ngl, i do love 4 myself, but i do get its downsides, but as i never was into competitive scene and LOVE singleplayer content in Fighting games, i enjoyed it immensely. Although, Primal Fury really is the best, best playing, most polished, best story even, only thing it doesn't have is blood. Well worth playing.
Not sure if it was mentioned in the comments but you actually do get a harder fight in the 2nd games arcade mode but you can't lose once and doing so let's you fight Shenlong after Gado which unlocks him
Definitely not, I'm glad to have some new ideas of things to work on! I sometimes forget about things I've played in the past so it's a good reminder haha
If you want cheese in your cutscenes look up Evil Zone for PS1.Its a fighting game that's presents each characters story like you're playing episodes of an anime.
OH MY GOD SOUL MATE FAM I'VE FINALLY FOUND YOU I HAD NO IDEA ANYONE ELSE EVER EVEN HEARD OF EVIL ZONE BUT OF COURSE IT WOULD BE IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF A VIDEO ABOUT BLOODY ROAR!!! Setsuna is the best waifu. Evil Zone is my favourite game of all time that allowed you to play as the boss character in their own storyline after beating the game with everyone.
Funny thing... I spent like a MONTH back in 2016 trying and failing and tearing my hair out to remember the name of Evil Zone. I played it as a kid at my cousin's house and the only thing I could remember was a guy named Lie who was bat shit insane and that really didn't help me a whole lot when putting in key words on google but somehow I eventually found it and was kind of saddened by the scores it got because as we all know and Blue has said multiple times in his videos by now... sometimes memories are best kept as memories.
Had the 1st game as a kid. Every fight turned into my sister just cornering me then punching me in the stomach to make me puke the whole match. BTW I like this channel a lot. You're funny and I like editing and all the content you cover
So I never played those 4, I only ever played primal fury. It’s super fun! Do an extension of this video with it. From what I remember, it looked and played like 4. Idk how everyone seems to love the third, again all I know is from this video, but I agreed with what you were saying from what I could see.
So, they are exactly like the first 4 Gran Turismo: 1) Good, but limited by being the first game to explore the concept. 2) Similar to the first, bit bigger and better. 3) The favourite by someone, but underwhelming for most people. 4) The bigger, better looking and most appreciated game.
Actually, no. BR4 is a broken button masher with horrendous story, voice acting and gameplay, with 90% of its assets being recycled from Primal Fury/Extreme. It's so bad it actually killed the franchise.
Bloody Roar 2 I remember, I played th demo for it on some PS1 disk. I can't remember if it was the PS Underground disk or some complicated menu navigating on the demo disk that came with the PS1
If you want a similar 3D fighting game that is even cheesier and has worse graphics, try Fighting Vipers. I think their best character is Raxel, a spandex wearing Rocker that fights with his guitar.

this series is basically furry the video game. This game franchise has become one of my favorite fighters besides Super Smash Bros. I as a furry myself would absolutely kill for an opportunity to work on a sequel to this franchise since the furry fandom has been on the rise of popularity and the premise itself is so much fun. I hope there is a new Bloody Roar one day because the fighting game community deserves it. So many anthro animals we could add, so many tweaks to the game that could be made!

The first time I played this series was a demo of BR2, i thought it was fun but demos only let you do so much. It wasn't until years later I played the full version of BR2. I'm pretty garbage at fighting games, but I thought it was a lot of fun. I later played BR4 and.. its pretty rough. The story mode is boring, the voice acting is garbage, and unlocking the secret characters is a a long boring grind. Always thought a character from this series would be a cool guest character in something like Tekken.
This channel is an absolute gem
Greg was my favorite because he's just....Greg lol
Same! Greg Gang.
You should really play Bloody Roar: Primal Fury. It does everything right.
Yeah, that was a peak. Only they had to do - is to copy Primal Fury gameplay into Bloody Roar 4. I'm sure, in this case BR4 would be a hit.

I played the first 3 in the arcades and never knew if the awesome intros and stage themes. The arcade was crazy noisy.

I actually love Bloody Roar 4, because of Reiji The Crow. He’s awesome.
