This was on the same TV show as her cover of Elvis Pressley's Can't Help Falling In Love. Diana and Russian folk = magic (You should REALLY check out Rechenka). Arguably the best song in this show was the Crow (I believe she sang 9 songs total and Personal Jesus was one of them). It's brilliant. This show featured staging with Live Virtual Reality. This show was more of a variety show than a competition. The "jurors" are fellow singers and Diana sits there and scores them when they sing as well. Diana was the youngest and least established singer in this talented group but she had the highest point total at the end of the show. The show ran for about 2 months, and they performed every weekend. Also, keep in mind the previous competition show Diana was an unknown 14-15 year old girl...and that show was really a showcase for orphans and disadvantaged children who spent time in an orphanage. Edit- (On the jury commentary you asked, "removed what"....she removed the banks from her previous and iconic hairstyle)

This is a show in which all its participants are stars. There are no judges on this show. All the judges are the same participants. Diana also participated as a singer and as a judge. It is very interesting judging when the stars evaluate the singing of other stats.

This was almost 3 years ago and it was her first adult competition, she just turned 18 years old at the time and she was against other famous and way more experienced performers.
She became famous at the ages of 14/15 when she won a children vocal competition and then she participated on this project.
All the judges you see are her opponents, Diana also judged the others when she was not performing, so she really did judge them as you pointed out.
She still won this whole competition against all those more famous and experienced singers.
On this song it was the first time Diana removed her "fringe" she had that since 4 years old and everyone got to know her with the fringe and super long hair which became her "Image" and the judge said that by removing her fringe she revealed her real age, so Diana added that it is the first time she had this kind of haircut without bangs.

I get what you mean by voice - it is resonance and tone. Diana is supremely unique in this and it comes down to her physiology - the unique make-up of her vocal instrument and how she uses it. It's one of the main things that makes her incredibly unique and special. She is not bigger because she has chosen to go independent and she is still very young and just finishing school. She has also turned down offers from many big producers, which she has been heavily criticized for. But her fans support her independence. yes, Dee-Ana is the correct pronunciation of her name.
