I wish every dealer were the same. My brother bought a brand new scag 2 years ago he paid around 12k and the mower started to have issues before the guaranty was over and they can hardly do something about it. One time the rear wheel come off Frome the spindle because they didn't assembled good and messed the brake sister and fuel tank and scag took forever to approve and my brother had to paid all the labor cost he had to paid for their mistakes

Unfortunately stuff happens and they are slow to repair. Makes for unwanted reviews.

I had a similar problem. 61” Scag Tiger Cat 29hp Kohler EFI. 800 hrs. Cracked block. Dealer was cooperative but Kohler who I had to call and talk with directly wasn’t. Finally agreed to cover it. I was without the mower from March of 2023 until February 2024, mostly waiting on the back ordered long block to arrive. Scag mechanic told me that Kohler screwed the pooch on this engine. Terrible design and will always have issues.
I’m glad you had a better experience and wish you luck with your equipment.

I see more negative videos then good ones on Scag as a company. What I think is happening is that people that do not properly take care of their equipment are getting turn down on warranty for abuse reasons. Or my area has bad dealers. I think Scag is awesome machines. Have a Freedom Z 12 years old and still going strong.

I had a problem with my Scag. Wiring harness insulation rubbed thru and caused a wire fire back to a fuse block.
The dealer picked up and returned it to me in 6 days at no charge! All warranty, the hauling was good will from the dealer.

    Hi Sir.
You have a lot of scags. Can you please tell me.
How different would the v ride 36 be compared to a liberty z 36 when mowing, let's say, an everage half acre of land?
I am trying to decide between this 2.
For personal use and a small amount of paid lawn care work.
    Thank you.

For home owner use? The Liberty z works well but is slower. The Vride2 is faster and has a better cut!!! For production mowing the Vride2 is much better setup!!!

that sucks, the deere h3 built in 71 has had it's kohler rebuilt twice and is still going strong. almost 20 years between rebuilds. it's been a great mower, bagger, tiller, snow blowing monster

Lordy, call me grumpy, but I find the title totally misleading. Got to hear someone go on and on about next to nothing. Wasted tome.
