Shane acted for what was best for Shane and what Shane wanted. He didn't give a damn about the group other than what they could do for him, Lori and Carl. Rick lives for the group.
EXACTLY. What happened to Rick in the bar in the Nebraska episode, most resembles this situation. He was provoked (gave them a chance) and then executed the ones he felt were a problem. Shane would have killed everyone from the break including Axel and Oscar.
@@fizzychizzy Also, the ponytail guy is a good example of what Shane would have been like in another life. That's why Rick acted so quickly, and had almost zero guilt about it. He knew that guy would come after him, poison the group and try to take over, the same way that Shane did - if Rick was willing to kill his best friend over that, imagine what he'd do to a stranger. Ironically, this is almost the same thing that Shane said to threaten Dale, but because it's Shane, he never followed through.
Like he said in the bar, even if we don’t believe it, we live for the people who look to us. Honestly, the subtle ways TWD connects everything is insane. Like Shane representing that Rick WILL have to kill some people, and that he can’t save everyone, BUT that he should still give people chances. And you see that in Rick throughout the first few seasons, he’ll always give people an out and an opportunity, whether it’s the prisoners, Shane, Randall, but he’s also willing to kill you if he needs to in order to protect the group.

I agree but can we all agree that if Lori was written better or just handled the situation differently Shane would have lived and the trio between Daryl Rick and Shane would be unstoppable
Ah yes, finally, the laughs and good comments about Daryl. I live for it. In fact, I've been waiting for it. Carl appreciation is also much appreciated. Plentiful. Keep that shit coming.
I don't think Rick is pissed about her sleeping with Shane. I mean, on the farm they talked about it and he said, "you thought I was dead." He was angry but I think at that point he was trying to let it go. I think he's pissed at her because she was so angry with him for killing Shane when it was basically self-defense. And she was also angry that Carl had to put Shane down but there was no other choice at that moment (I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've seen that episode, but I think Rick was weaponless at that point and walker Shane was heading towards him) and she didn't get that. Anyway, I always love your reactions guys!
Vanessa Grijalva he probably also mad because she literally asked him to kill Shane, remember she told him hat Shane was dangerous and he needed to be taken care of, so how the fuck is she going to mad at him for doing what she wanted him to do in and in self defense no less
I think he was upset because she turned against him. He had said he could handle anything as long as she and Carl was by his side but she pulled away and he snapped
Technically you don't have to immediately kill someone as soon as they get bit or scratched. You don't turn into a walker until you actually die. So once a person's heart stops then you can stab them in the head before they come back as a zombie so homeboy was wrong for bashing in tiny's head like that. He was ruthless

I was pretty young too so I think that made it worse, I started bawling my eyes out, half yelling at the same time about how messed up it was and why did it have to be Hershel. It just broke my heart.
The way ya'll flew out the room had me hollering lmaooooooooooo and see how my baby daddy Rick don't play, machete Rick is bae. The Shane thing is bullshit, Morgan & Daryl has also been out there since the apocalypse started and they never plot to kill anyone that crossed their path. They couldn't be any more different.
@Brandon Goodman aye chill with the spoilers, they're only on episode 6. My point was Shane was far gone a few months into the apocalypse for NO reason.
Rick got over Lori and Shane doing it, they both thought he was dead. What Rick couldn't get past was her getting mad for him killing Shane after Shane tried to kill him!!
I feel like Rick has one of those 'Threat Level' meters in his head ( like a robot or Project Nemesis from Resident Evil 2), that goes up and down. So he saved that kid because the threat level was low, but had to change the plan cause the threat meter went up slightly. But it didn't go high enough to kill him. With the Laurie and Shane situation, the warning Laurie gave to Rick, increased Shane as a threat so when they were out in that field Rick felt like he had no choice. But when he tells Laurie and she reacts like he was a monster, it's as if he misjudged the threat and betrayed his moral code because of her. It adds another layer of betrayal in their relationship, one that's harder for him to forgive. Because if he did, would he be open to making the same mistake again?

I still don't think you guys understand the difference between Rick & Shane. In this episode if Shane was in Ricks Place, he wouldn't have just killed pony tail guy, but all of the Prisoners and just taken all their food. Cause for Shane it was all about himself, and if it gotten down to him Karl, and Lori, Shane would have chosen himself. Rick is Choosing who to kill here, and he even gave them a chance, Pony Tail guy was clearly a bad dude along with his follower. Everyone he killed so far is a threat to the group. Everyone Shane killed wasn't a threat to the group. You can argue Randel, but everyone points out how he would have died anyway, if they left him out their.
I've always hated Shane. However, the more commentaries I watch and the more times I watch the show as I grow older, I'm forced to look beyond just what he did and down to other aspects of everything. If he didn't, he would have let Rick have Hershel take the blood he needed for Carl and go to get the equipment needed. Rick leaving Carl would have been a blow to Lori's trust in him and Shane would have had a better chance in his head. He chose to do what was best for his friend and for Carl. And I agree with Andrea when she said in season two that he often made the right calls he just didn't deliver the opinion the correct way. Shane was either abrasive or condescending when voicing his opinion and that caused major problems. Daryl wouldn't have been injured and nearly killed if they had called off the search for Sophia. The walkers in the barn were a threat. The problem with both these issues was he was down right aggressive in getting what he wanted. Now one could argue that if he had acted differently and waited to clear the barn until the Greene's were ready that someone could have been killed looking for Sophia (which is very true) but if he had waited until they were ready, Hershel likely wouldn't have gone into town to drown his feelings, they wouldn't have brought back Randal. Shane wouldn't have died when he did and Carl wouldn't have put walker Shane down, bringing the hoard to the farm. I'm far from being any sort of psychiatrist but I believe he had a mental break that started before Rick came back. He was way to willing to consider killing Rick so early to have been fully sane. I think everything that happened changed him so drastically that he was willing to kill the man he'd considered his brother for years to protect what he now considered his. I'd imagine he'd already gone through a lot to protect Lori and Carl and there was no way he could just let them go. They were his. Rick had died and no longer had a claim in Shane's mind. Also, I've met several people that were angry he'd told Lori Rick was dead. That's exactly what he believed. He couldn't hear a heartbeat. He wanted to get Rick out of there. That's why he grabbed the gurney. With the screaming, gunfire, walker groans and what I would imagine to be his own panic, it's completely understandable that he wouldn't be able to hear the heart beat of a comatose patient. It's also likely that they BOTH would have died if he'd tried to get Rick out while in a coma. Video volume is so low.
Probably to avoid copyright issues
@@enicole1203 doesnt need to be low at all, especially not THIS low, its virtually unwatchable as to hear it they are deafening. I watch over a dozen reaction channels and while a cple have low volume none have it this low and most dont have it low at all. its not about size of channel either as one, blindwave is bigger than rt tv and has no problems with low volume.
They NEED to turn the show audio up or their audio down!
