The 'kick open' tailgate does work, just sweep your foot under it, not shake your foot around like its on fire, give the sensor a moment.

You don't kick the boot like that to trigger the power tailgate opening and closing. You swipe your foot from one side to another under the bumper.

That's the European version - the Canadian / North American version has a third row in the back. Which is not that practicable, because it drives up the price unnecessarily.

People do not understand how to use touch free tailgate. Kick twice quickly and it will work EVERYTIME. Everyone keeps kicking in the wrong pattern. Twice in succession. Only twice, not once and then once again.

615 litres when the rear seats are up is a bit misleading. That 615 litres is for the rear seats being up AND slid all the way forward.
Nice car but not sure about long term reliability. Also the atrocious customer service from the Dealers is a big turn off.

My wife's £44k 2017 Tiguan 190ps 4 Motion R-Line has a horrendous metallic grating noise emanating from the drive train, which has been evident from new.
After lengthy investigations lasting several weeks both VW and the selling dealer have described the aforementioned ‘noise’ a ‘characteristic’ and ‘normal DSG operation noise’ However are refusing to declare why the noise is evident on some cars but not others and also which component the noise is emanating from!......something to hide?..... seriously not Volkswagen surely?!!!
I have during the past 8 years spent in excess of £250,00 on VAG products so you could guess that I am a valuable customer?....LOYALTY counts for NOTHING with VW!....when they have your money they are simply not interested!!
Unfortunately and due to VW’s reluctance to resolve my wife’s concerns with her Tiguan I have been left with no alternative but to appoint a independent DEKRA automotive engineer who has contrary to VW and the selling dealers opinion of the noise being ‘normal operation’ and a ‘characteristic’ has concluded there is a terminal drivetrain defect!
I have test driven 4 Tiguan's for comparison purposes and out of 4, three exhibited varying degrees of noise so there is no consistency but apparently quite a few cars affected, some customers have contacted me from as far a field as Australia and Iceland!
I have uploaded a video to you tube so have a listen see if you think it is acceptable!.........ruclips.net/video/O96j_x9M3fk/видео.html

    • @wocaomade

@@aikidoboynj First of all if you don't have the top trim level, i.e. the SEL Premium in US or equivalently the Highline in Canada, which is the only trim level with LED headlights, then it looks quite different from the top trim already. Second, if it is not the R-Line version then the front bumper looks different, also over the sides, the lower parts would be black plastic for non-R-Line version, instead of the ones on R-Line which are painted with the same color as the car itself. Lastly the North American Tiguans are long wheel base version, which means they look less sporty.

I just got the new Tiguan 1.4 TSI DSG comfortline over a month ago. the ErgoActive seat it a nightmare 14 way to get so un comfort that make one wonder how can they miss the design so bad. you seat on a very thin padding that don't block the hard metal frame of the seal bottom. After 5 minutes of drive you start to feel pain in the legs due to the stiffness of the seat. you cannot drive more then 30-45 minutes without getting out of the car for a refreshing rest. I am so disappointed by this car. I will not buy VW or its group NEVER AGAIN
