Theory time , so the grand supreme kai gohan is as far as we know the strongest of the multiverse and el hermano must have been good friends with him in that universe . However disgusted by the numerous weak gohans in the multiverse , so he attacks other gohans to kill weak ones and spare stronger ones . Maybe him and grand gihan had a fallout on the gohans' wastes of potential and due to some not yet seen event caused him to be the way he is .
In my head I have a scene in which piccolo special beam cannons android 21 (Gohan absorbed) While goku appears and Kamehameha them forming the attack into what I can only call the "father figure special kamehame-cannon"
