Good to see them start releasing more colorways. There was a long period of time that they had basically no zg21’s in stock following the initial release. It was kind of surprising.
Yeah the yellow and green still aren’t available in the UK, only US at the moment. There’s new primeblue Upper versions too, as well as a boa mid cut version too…although those aren’t for me
As always Kevin thanks for the time and effort to deliver another well informed video on Adidas's new arrival. I personally shy away from shoes with cleats as my preference is a spikeless shoe. I am expanding my repertoire of potential would be spikeless shoes as i am waiting for one that looks aesthetically pleasing to my eye and comfort. Guess i will carry on watching your future releases in the hope a desirable one can be found.
Have them but not used them atm however they look appealing and some good hallmarks on appearance despite the boa being located on the side of the shoe. Will report back if am able to before the winter sets in as i am covalescing after a excruciating lower back injury of no know reason. Keep the reviews coming please.
This is what I'm wondering, too! I have a wonderful pair of Pumas but they're SO HOT on my feet. Already having 100 degree (38 Celsius) days here in Texas.
Thanks so much Eddie 👍 with the plasticky feeling artificial upper, they’re not the most breathable shoes out there…although the fact they’re light weight helps….I didn’t have any problem in the UK summer (30°c) but any hotter and I’m probably going for something with a mesh tongue that breathes a little more. If you’re looking for serous breathability, you might need something more focused on that, which may sacrifice some waterproofing….something like Ecco cool pro?
Wow! Breathability isn’t this shoes strong point. I didn’t have an issue using them in 28-30°c in the UK, but I don’t think I’d fancy 40!! But they are light weight for sure, so you might be ok. What do you currently use?
@@GolfGuyReviews I wear Puma Ignite PROADAPT currently, and they're a great golf shoe but almost all leather and it feels like my feet are on fire. If you have any suggestions for a breathable spiked golf shoe - water-proofing is not important to me - I'd be all ears! Binging your videos now and really enjoying the content 👍
@@GolfGuyReviews I actually ended up taking a chance and buying these after your review anyways; they're probably THE most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, and I played in 40c yesterday and never thought about the heat on my feet once. Thanks for your time, I couldn't be happier with these!
Thanks David 🙏 by waterproof do you mean 100% step in a puddle up to the laces and you still stay dry? As there’s not many of those, only a handful in fact and they won’t be for £120 generally. For that price range you might want to check out my review of the Puma Ignite Caged golf shoes or if you can find them where you are the Nike Roshe G Tour (that’s assuming you want spiked)
Have had a couple of pairs of the BOA ZG21 shoes. Love them from a comfort snd support point of view, apart from the inside heel support which always seems to deteriorate very quickly. Adidas have always replaced but not great for a £160 shoe!!
Thanks for watching Rachel. Ah that’s not good! Didn’t notice it wearing on mine, but it’s difficult for me to do long term testing anymore 🤣 I was told the boa runs large, where as the laces seemed true to size to me
I have the ZG21, but I got some complaints about the shoe. The upper material is easy to clean for dirt, but not for stains. I got some pollen on my pair and no matter how much Reshoevn8r, Crep, or other cleaning products I tried, it won't come out. Also the comfort is ok, but it's mostly due to insole and not the Boost. Take out the insole to see for yourself. It's a massive stacked insole, The Boost layer is very thin. For new Adidas golf shoes, this is #3 on my list (of 3 I bought this year). Strangely, the CodeChaos 21 has the same insole, but feels more comfortable in the heel. Maybe it's because the Boost isn't encapsulated in LightStrike? I'm not sure. It's a comfy ride and the grip is great. They are definitely #1 on my list. Also love the look. Saw your vid on that shoe too. If it reminds you of a basketball sneaker, it might be the KB8 or Crazy 8. One of Kobe's shoes when he was at Adidas. The wavy line is very similar. #2 goes to the Solarthon. This is the only actual real Boost golf shoe. The midsole is purely Boost and the stack is the same as the UltraBoost 19/20 (which was 20% more Boost than previous models). The upper is more breathable than the CodeChaos 21 and the grip is surprisingly good. But I really hated that Adidas lied about the water proofing by shoe by not showing what the shoes really looked like in photos. It also has a weird tongue. It's fully attached, but also huge that you need to tuck in the extra material and when not done right, looks awful. The tongue also has a hidden pocket. Since it's under the laces, the pocket isn't really good for things like tees or markers. No idea why it's there.
Thanks for watching Areksoo, and your really detailed insight. It’s great. I hope I made it clear this isn’t as soft underfoot as the code chaos or tour360 XT. Compared to what some other brands are offering it’s still plenty comfortable enough to walk the course no problem. I haven’t noticed any major stains that I can’t get out, so I can’t really comment, but given the rubbery texture I can see that happening for sure. The solarthon is still on my list to check out, but I’ve got quite a few other golf shoes lined up as you can image!
Stability wise I wouldn’t say there’s a noticeable difference. The Footjoy has a wider base so may feel slightly more planted, but I didn’t have an issue with the ZG21, I really enjoyed playing in them both. The carbon has the carbon plate but the ZG21 has a plastic outsole so there’s little in it. Perhaps the Footjoy has the slight edge given it sits a little lower to the ground…but the spikes will give better traction in the wet, so there’s not really a clear winner. In terms of comfort, I’d probably say the Footjoy has a slight advantage in that it’s a slightly larger fit and the orthalite innersole is very comfortable, but the Adidas is still probably a little softer underfoot. One thing to note is the quality of the Pro SL carbon is superior to the ZG21. The materials used feel more premium and the leather will break it to be much softer over time. If you look after them I’d expect them to last you longer too. I hope that helps
It’s weird because they haven’t really relaxed it. Can think of a spiked leather performance shoe in their line up 🤷♂️ they updated the spikeless version with the XT 2.0, but the update to the spiked version never came
Old review, but comment - the heel will rub and ultimately create a friction hole. I think the recycled material is causing the friction, even putting pieces of plastic embedded in my sock that I've had to pull out. Adidas said they were out of warranty, played about 20 rounds over 7 months... Will be trying to add a heal pad to fix the hole, but should be better build IMO.
I’ve seen others have a similar issue with both adidas and Puma golf shoes when it’s a woven material on the heel rather than leather. Difficult for me to wear the shoes for long enough to find out
Ah no, sorry to hear that. Shows how unique everyone's feet are - I have quite delicate feet (blister very easily) and yet I've worn these straight out the box to walk 18 holes and not had any problems. In fact these have become my go to spiked shoes for this year.

I love shoes and I love golf. So naturally, I love your videos. How is the breathability during hot summer months? My feet sweat.

Good review. Bit pricey for me though. My ceiling is £120. Is there a review in your archives for waterproof shoes?

Can I play in these all year round or are these winter shoes
I’d say yes you can. I wore them this summer to play in our club championships, felt great 👍
How would you rate these compared to pro sl carbon? Comfort and stability wise?

Generally comfy but had to stop wearing them due to how rough the inner heel material is. Blister after blister... Would not buy again.

What about the solathon?
