I have a small position in BTI with the expectation of growth in emerging markets. The dividend is nice, too, but increasing regulation in developed nations is a concern.
I hope they announce a buy back program tomorrow. I am about break even and then I kiss them good bye after 5 years. Will look for a replacement dividend stock.
I was lucky as I have just recently started to invest. I could buy at the average 24.5 pounds and now I luckily have some pounds in green. To be frank, I was in red most of the time and I kept averaging and waiting. I think I will sell it at 15-20% profit and just keep a small position to keep track of it. It keeps going down and down year by year that the dividend is not worth the pain. Instead, buying ETFs like MSCI India or SP500 is more sustainable in my opinion.
They should just stop dividend for now and do a massive buyback program. This would give incredible return. This would create the or one of the best investment in the market.

Owned it for years now. Great dividend and they change with the times. So yeah, it's a keeper.
BTI is 3% of my 21 stock portfolio and have had several years. Seems it has a future, being a leader in non combustibles.
Planning to buy this in time for the next dividend. Even if they cut the dividend by 25% it's still a good yield.
Looking forward for my august div coming from BATS
Is their dividend qualified?

What is the difference between BTI and BATS ?
BATS is originally UK listed
BTI is the ADR,listed in US stock market.

Bank of Nova Scotia please.

still very cheap, plus huge buyback support the stock price.

Good luck with finding another 10% yield. 😂
