Thanks for the great content :) To me it feels like you're shipping back totally keepable hands a couple of times, would like to hear your opinion on this after the league:
First @43:19: With the opening hand, go Skurry, turn 2 if you don't draw a land with the two draw steps go petal, tap skurry for 2 Blue, play Pentad with the petal, play Augury to probably get a land with 2 Draw steps+dig 3 cards deep, which will set you up nicely for the next turn with another Prism and Augury and also a draw 3 spell that proliferates (you won this game anyways though)
Another good example is @1:53:18: With the first hand, you could go Peat Bog turn 1, turn 2 tap for 2 Black, island cycle Lorien Revealed, play Island, then Pentad Prism for Black Blue; next turn take one counter off Pentad + tap Island for Experimental Augury. With the draws for turn and the Augury you will have 6 Looks for the third land and be in a very good spot with pentad in play etc, but you decided to mulligan to 4 cards in the end. I mean, you ended up winning this game as well, so I guess this really speaks for the mulligan power of Poison Storm :P

I'm pretty sure this is my decklist for the last time I trophied in the league. Funny that you mention running 2 breath weapon main and the dual type land with red because the last time I played in paper that is what I was running. The thing with snap is that against some match ups it helps you survive while also helping you win the game faster but yeah I also tried running the deck without them and you know probably the same success overall.
Moment's peace you have to think about it as a 2-turn safety against red and gruul that is in your base colors and giving you enough time to poison them off or in the case of mono red to maybe let them overcommit to the board and then you breath weapon them.
I feel like this deck can easily go 3-2 in the leagues and sometimes you can 4-1 and that's why it has "58% winrate", but god the matches against blue decks are so bad because of all the counterspells it's basically impossible to win you literally just need them to have bad luck or they waste all of their mana to commit to the board leaving you a chance to storm off.

I know the deck needs something so the Broodscale matchup isn't a complete wash, so I understand why the Snap was there it just didn't feel relevant for the matchups I faced this league. It's a fine deck and one that I never like seeing as a Turbofog enjoyer (this is like a 0% matchup), so it was nice to be on the other end to see how it goes against the field.

Dont wildfire the depletion lands. I will die on this hill.

    • @CharlotteMimic
      @CharlotteMimic 28 дней назад +4

Why? I really like using Wildfire offensively because it reduces the mana available next turn by 1, which makes it a Sinkhole that cantrips.
There are spots where you really need to ramp to fit your curve, ofc, and then you should do that. But there's a reason the heuristic is "bolt the bird" and not "play your bird to match them."

@@CharlotteMimic they get a land a basic land back. You don’t increase board pressure so you essentially time walk yourself in exchange for taking them off 1 extra mana every turn. Doesn’t seem that good to me

Great content as always. You know what would be awesome though? If you took this "league" decks to a challenge. I am quickly learning that people in the leagues simply grew tired of the best decks. In the challenges, with tons of affinitys, glee combos and mono reds, some decks that are good in leagues get completely trashed.

Yeah, if you notice throughout my videos I generally only play against 1-2 of these top 3 decks in a league. Affinity you barely ever see, I see a lot more Broodscale and red. But people are still experimenting, which is cool it's just nothing can breach these top 3 decks in challenges.

To have more spells in hand for a bigger weather in a later turn. Probably better to get the prism out then though? I'm unsure, I haven't played this deck enough to know the proper sequencing.

It would have been mana neutral, plus you would have one more tank for mana next turn
But definitely, it is not an easy deck to pilot

Hate when people blame RGN like the dreadge guy. People think by running four copies of a card they 100% will get it in the game, you both didnt find what you looking for, you find the poison card almost out enought proliferate or cards in deck for the guy cry "Mol just wanted you for win". F_#& off bro, have you ever play a tcg in paper? Who you use to blame on that?

If I complain, I just do it to myself. There isn't reason to take out frustration on others, it will just make them miserable as well. Just scream into a pillow afterwards to relieve the stress of things not going your way. That's my belief anyway.

There was a list at one point where someone had UG Fog but instead of stream it used Poison and Proliferate to win. I think that was what they were referring to, but I just wanted to more stock list to see how it went as I hadn't played the deck before on my channel.
