Yeeah! I love Roosevelt! I discovered him a couple years ago, and the songs 'Night Moves', 'Teardrops", and 'Colors' are still on heavy rotation for me. His music reminds me of driving around on a summer night with the windows down drinking a 7-11 Slushie, lol.
He's a modern day Mozart, imo. His usage of subtle percussive hints, chord progressions, and that mild yet strong vocal. He has a grasp on aural comprehension that is extremely rare. Even as Trey points out, his usage of the Pan feature in his recordings is expert level. And that switch up about 3/4ths through the song, it's like an avalanche of emotion! EDIT: ALSO, congrats on being i THINK the 2nd reactor on YT to react to his stuff! (Shout out to Fish Out of Water for being the first..hah), and the first reacted to one of his first releases! Other GREAT tracks by him are: Last To Know, Montreal, Shadows, Strangers, (Feels Like) Heaven, See You Again, Signs, Feels Right, and even a cover of Fleetwood Mac's song "Everywhere", which, imo, while not being the original masterpiece still is a great rendition somehow making the song more 80s sounding than the original that was FROM the 80s..lol.
I'm kind of on a 'sounds-like-80s-synth-jams' kick right now, so if you want recommendations I have them. Chad Valley's song 'I Owe You This', Fenech-Soler's song "Night Time TV", and Jungle's song "Crumbler" are all great. I have a bit of an odd taste in music so YMMV, lol. If you really want something new and different, try "Moonshine" by Caravan Palace, or "The Cairn" by Kubbi. That last one is instrumental. It starts a little slow but then blasts off. Happy listening!
Roosevelt is one of the few artists from this decade that I like it .The other one is the belgian producer Pooldore .
Thanks for watching Alexander Steffen!
I LOVE HIM. I cannot believe I get to see him live in 2 weeks in Amsterdam.
Man you really need to check out Parcels
