Hey - really enjoyed that thanks. Short but sweet! I'm a UI designer hoping to move into the audio industry. If you had any in-depth video tutorials that would be awesome!!

I'm taking these tips to heart. Thanks for this! I'd love to see which UI you consider to be the best in the audio industry. Please stay safe 🙏

Thanks for sharing those tipps, even in these trying times. Good approach to start with the feel, we'll start like this for our next projects!

You are welcome. The feel is a new language that requires its vocabulary for every person :-) because modern means different styles to different people.

Screen reader accessibility Is another important thing to consider. JUCE has added accessibility features In recent versions.

I tried to design a ham radio front panel recently using Cinema 4D, i guess the principles are the same for any photorealistic hardware device render. I'm wondering if there is any kind of tutorial available on how to break apart and export different renders, and create bitmap sprites, for example for all the button states (default, half-pressed, pressed and so on..). What is the standard workflow? I've been searching online but there aren't that many resources available.

hi there i am young student and i am interested in what concerns VST skin design. I admire your work and how you presented your care into details. Now, there are some questions and some topic i cannot really get my head around, even there are tons of tutorial online for everything today. Hope somebody can give me some hints. i feel a bit lost. i use figma, illustrators, photoshop. and have some basics skills on blender. Creating a basic interface on figma, with gradients and shades is fine. But when i see those materials and fine grain of your product , i assume : you also use mutiple softwares correct? like some skin-surfaces bases, like frames are done in 3D, or some like buttons, knobs with their shadows and rendered, correct? How much is photoshop used in this process to acieve some kind of "realism" with materials? help!

Sorry mate, I only seen your comment . I wasn’t working for a year . Now I’m back . We use not only a mix of software but also references and a lot of purchased textures and hdri maps.. so ui look refined

Please make a mixer Gui users can assign to parameters in their DAW!

What kind of software are useful for project gui? I think that sometimes are designed with 3D software especially when they emulate old instruments.

Blender 3D is relatively cheap and is often used. Maya gives a realistic result as well, but harder to get ui assets exported on an alpha layer.
