Mel!!! I absolutely loved this!! I know moving your movies is a pain in the ass, but I bet you had a lot of fun at the same time! I always find it therapeutic. I can’t wait to see the room tour!
Happy for you. A lot of work but will look amazing when your done. I just put together a new shelf unit that will probs hold about 450 movies. I live in a small 2 bedroom condo. I am running out of space. After I fill this new shelf I may have to kick my Son out and take over his room 😂😂 I think I’m over 2000 movies now.
Brought back memories of doing Contracting work. I thought Laundry Baskets were for clothing hehe ;). I liked it personally it was fun to see. I gotta move some stuff around to fit 3rd Tower which will be interesting. YOu seem to like Mac N Cheese or something akin to that too :). Those some cool Posters I gotta get some frames for mine. Usually I just tack them up hehe or don't use them :).
MEEEELLLL!! Fantastic job on this room relocation. As an editor I can appreciate everything you’ve done here. Tons of coverage, setting the camera up in the right place to capture all the action, time lapse…I mean come on! Incredible. It’s looking great and I’m actually digging the shorter shelves behind you but yes as an OCD brother here, I totally get wanting those on the same wall. Perhaps a simple black out curtain or even a tapped up cardboard blocking the window would allow you to move your desk over and put a backdrop along that entire wall, ignoring the window completely. My friend did that at his house when turning a room into a home theater and it worked great. You’d never know there’s a window in that room. When he moved out, the covering came down and the window was back…like magic. Thumbs up, girl!!

Mel, you absolutely killed it with this video! I love that you showed us you old set up and how you don't need much to start, you were literally next to your car hahaha! As someone trying to start up a channel, it really helped to see this process and the set up. Love those lights! Great video!!

Mel this is a great video, very jealous of your room setup. I recommend putting UV light blocking film on your windows in the room to protect your books and movies from yellowing. You will still get that natural light but without any of the damage longterm sunlight brings to things.

I have DVDs and a few VHS tapes lining the floor of my movie room, so I 100% know about this struggle.

My movie room behind.my.wall.of ikea bookcases is actually a 7ft wide bay window. But covered it with bookcases and put a room darkening curtains. So you don't get light from it helps with filming and I wanted a room with minimal sunlight so it didn't fade my movies I would honestly consider blocking the window were your large bookcase is with a few more large ones across the wall for your films .
That's a great idea! Huck had the same thought!! I might have to try it!! My goal for 2023 is to have a many movies as you! 😂 Just kidding your collection is amazingly big it would take me years!!

Do you have any pets? I would be worried putting anything on my floor for more than half a second; my cat would probably think it's a litter box and he'd go on it.
I think Huck has a great idea to cover that window. I was thinking something similar because a lot of my windows are covered by something. Your windows look nicer, though; mine are really old and have the portions that stick out too far. Unless I missed that from your video.

Awesome video, and man it's a pain to move your movies around! I did a smaller move this past weekend, decided I needed to flip my quad Prepac shelf in my office and TV/stand/game systems etc in my office to be on opposite walls. Had to move all my movies off the shelves temporarily just to move the shelf over to the other wall, such a pita but was worth it!
Yes! Definitely one of the biggest pains was moving those movies! And trying not to damage any of them! Glad it worked out for both of us! LOL

This really was an amazing video! I love the process and seeing how it all came together. I'm a big fan of behind the scenes stuff. It looks awesome! Great job! I also did the same thing with my movies this past summer lol. Steelbook, digibooks, 4Ks, labels, and regular blu rays in ABC order and then dvds and vhs in ABC order lol. This was very entertaining and it wasn't long at all! Can't wait to see the room tour and what else you have in store for us this year! 😊

Shelves Billy book cases? I'm lookin for new ones!
Mine are not. They are weird shelves you can usually find on random websites or amazon...different brands everytime but seem to be the same. I am actually having a hard time sourcing more so if you find some good white ones lemme know! 😂

As somebody who used to do Contracting Cement work etc. I would have kept the wood floor just refinished unless it was totally heh. Put down Tarps as better off using throw rugs if anything. My other cousin used to put down rugs so I put a staple in my hand with one of those hammer things hehe. If put temperature up a few degrees or down then set back it should avoid turning on AC or Heat. I turn off my AC usually record after 11 PM or 3 to 5 AM. Depends on rain or humidity if wearing Plague Mask as lenses will fog up fast. You clean up pretty well for those ICP pics ;). I would have moved only what I could carry or shelves then organize. I don't know what system you use to break up collection. I took vow with DVDs out of hand I would only have Blu Rays in like wire holders or not stacked or ever on floor hehe. I've had mountains of DVDs fall preventing me from getting in or out of room about twenty times :). You can get like those Metal things to help move better. That is strange place that people just appear.
Last time I got Carpet helping this Female move into Apartment it didn't fit hehe. Then had to roll it back up as really difficult to carry carpet or lift it anyways. That is a start of comic collection as I got Thousands of them and boxes. That circle light I think is supposed to go above or behind not in front of face. You could use the car lights if wanted hehe. If put directly in front of face its kinda defeats the purpose of the lighting. I know doing Contracting work we used like these Bright Hologons behind us never in faces hehe. I never mounted a TV but those legs are flimsy really difficult to get on or wobbly :). I thought of getting these blacklights for my room to see if mask will glow but I dunno :). You gotta measure plan out things better next time do this its easier :). I have limited space so had to do that when got like entertainment units etc. You can get those Bean Bag Chairs etc ;). YOu need a Crawl Space or ceiling spot to stash the DVDs hehe ;). I divide my Anime from Live Action now I've got a 3rd Packman Tower so have to split up the Live Action stuff in a Logical Organized Way :). I'd factor in if the Windows Break or Water gets in things like that before placing stuff too. 3M makes these sticky things I use to hang paintings or my Superman Sheet in Room :). They make different sizes that can support different amt of weight too :). I'd probably have setup studio in the closet putting up the sound foam things too :). The Burbs are tough place growing up even got comic about Joey B :). I kinda wish I framed two posters I got. I have some Frazetta prints I never framed too. I got Rollerball with the 4K along with The Warrior and Sorceress recently. Usually I try to get construction paper background to put behind or fill out spaces or gaps too. YOur a real Pro opening up that spot. I thought I ripped my poster for Rollerball as could not get the tape or thing off. Then used a knife when scissor didn't work :).
Ya this room is a spare bedroom and the wood wasn't great so hence the carpet. I like the way carpet makes a room feel more comfy though. It's nice for what it is.
@@mykillerpodcast I figured as I got Carpet in here but Wood Floors are probably better often. I know many into Anime have the Closets with the foam to get best audio. I've read many comments on them where people complain about it even if sounds fine to me. I get that all time too where people say things like I'm in a HOrnet Nest :). I had AC leak so can't really clean the carpet. There still area try to sop up with towel but heh. I've had them snag pull rip on me. Tile can get really cold so heh. I thought about a purchase for a month before finally doing it. I'm not quick enough at times or I can't really decide. I planned a fair amt so when got Pac Man Tower it was easier to divide up haha. Not perfect Fit but was better than expected. I'll admit I stare at it every so often sorta Happy. Though I want to fill them up too. I got like Fifty Things Bookmarked trying to be methodical and patient :). Trick is to know what can get on sale or really cheap. I got Edward Scissorhands for Free Shipping at 5 bucks new without enhanced packaging. You collect those Slips so can't really wait :). Your buying the same movie 2 or 3 times like Becky. I quit buying CDs when Emperor had Re Master a week after bought the same thing new hehe. STuff like that. Bubba Ho Tep I got Blu Ray but they already have a 4K set with it coming out again? I don't even know if its upgraded as not opened mine yet hehe. Plan More Work Less :). I had fun seeing it though. Reminds me of when I organized Candy or things working at CVS Nights ;).

Thank you!!! I know right! It is a work in progress but even then it is still nice. The shelves are some weird off brand thing from I bought them from 3 different places and they all have different names but seem to be the same shelf, super weird. I have found them on Amazon, Walmart and various other sites just look up white cd shelves and see what you find!
Great job on both the move/reorganizing of the collection and putting together this video! Looked like a lot of work. Ugh, and that feeling when you move the shelving to a different room and it does not quite fit the way you wanted.
To me, there is no better feeling than a freshly reorganized movie room. It is always a lot of work but I'm done and can enjoy it, it really reinvigorates my love of my collection. Even when its just switching out the posters. BTW, if you do not want to store the posters in the tubes, check out Baroque Portfolios. They're nice to have so you can flip through your poster collection like a picture book haha.

Thank you!! These shelves all came from all over the place LOL I bought a little one from Walmart first but when I went back to get another one they were sold out so I found the same shelf on Amazon. When I went to buy another one of those they were sold out so I found the big one on some random website that was the same shelf, so I grabbed it. The book shelf is from Target I have 2 of those very cheap but great quality!! I know my shelf journey is ridiculous. I have no idea what I am going to do when I need another one!! LOL

My favorite movie is #1 Christine #2 Thinner ? Is Thinner horror lol but I’m really enjoying your videos but this video was my favorite I love the white shelves you display your collection most males buy the black shelves lol but I look forward to seeing your future videos and eventually your permanent movie room you should get a more comfortable chair that must be very uncomfortable sitting for long periods of time especially on your butt and spine. Thank you so much!! I use my Galaxy S20 for videos (this phone has more MPS than the majority of cameras, reasons why it was day one for me) and my laptop camera for live streams. I don't recommend the laptop camera it's not good. I am definitely looking to upgrade that!
This was a very cool video Mel but my nerves couldn't handle seeing all those movies piled up on the floor like that lol. I sure hope Dark Tower made it safely to it's new home. Also, how the hell are you able to sit on those God awful steel chairs during live streams? Those chairs are the worst to plant your ass on.
I know right! That pile of movies didn't sit there for very long believe me! I don't know how my butt servived LOL that chair is no good! Dark Tower is safe and sound and right where it belongs! I bagged that one for sure LOL
