- How To Add Pockets To Scarves
Pockets in scarves are practical, there's no denying it.
And there are many ways of knitting them. I'll show you today how too make them hidden, so you'll knit them into the scarf as you knit the main body of the scarf.
It'll take a bit more time, but they're much more stylish once finished!

Hannah, could you please tell me what size needle you used and how many rows would you do the Stockinette stitch before the 4 rows of garter stitch in between each break in color. Also how long is this going to be for a child age 4.
Hi Debra, i honestly can't remember the stitch counts on this video, it's so long ago that I made this video. You'll find a scarf pattern on ravelry I should think and can use this technique to add the pockets. happy knitting 🧶
Great tutorial. I have a question about the second pocket. Do you just knit the rows for the pocket from the stitches that are left on the holder? (Fairly new to knitting, sorry if that's a silly question)
So glad you found this - it's a great way to challenge yourself as a beginner. Yes, put the stitches onto a needle and knit up the pocket with them. Happy knitting!

I'll have a think on that, it might be more complicated to implement and things are more likely to fall out. But I'll certainly see if it can be sorted - maybe it would need a button fastening. Happy knitting!
