Best CR I’ve ever had dad got me one from a shop in 2004 super low hours I was 16 just left school he picked up a CRF 450. Both bikes blew my mind. I later had a 2003 it was slower than the 2001. Love Hondas. Never blew one , blew a Husky 610 only bike I’ve ever blown up.
That's awesome!! Its always nice when you can relate to the content. I wish there was some way I could let more people ride a 2001 to see just how good they really are. Thanks a lot for the content and for watching.
That is actually pretty awesome!! I had to take a look at your videos, looks like some pretty awesome places to ride!! also that CR looks Great!!! :) im glad you like my channel im going to have to take a look at your footage a bit more... but makes me wish i had some of that riding around where i live Thanks again and hopefully we can earn your Subscribe
@Dirtbikerepair Already Subbed to you. I saw your thumbnail and I thought it was my bike at first 😅. We ride Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia mostly.
well I'm on the other side of lake Erie, in Ontario, its nice riding here but i would love to get down your way this year in 2024 Thanks a lot for the Sub, we have a few videos coming up on some of the riding in our area @@ADVRally
the 2000 and 2001 are really great bikes. obviously i like a lot of different bikes, but the 2001 CR250 just has that special place.. I will do a better review/ over view of the bike once the 2004 CR250 build is done
Im putting a 250. 2001 back together with my son now ..new rings and carb kit filter gaskets and fired up when rebuilt..but how do you get your bike to fire over so quickly cold. It something i struggle with.
Mine start good because of the tuning.. seting them up for your area and the riding you do. I also run race fuel in all my bikes. No ethonal and the fuel has lead in it
That’s a really good question! I don’t replace the coper washers every time I do an oil change. But I do replace them the first oil change of the season. The price of the copper washers is pretty cheap. So I don’t try and save or reuse them. If you find your washers are damaged or need to be replaced obviously do them sooner. Thanks a lot for the comment. I hope this helps. Also the time it would take to repair or heat them is not worth just buying new ones
@@Dirtbikerepair I just found out on another forum. Glowing (5-700 deg) red by butane or mapp torch is fine. Air or water cool is fine. Takes very little time. Save your used washers for spares and anneal.
Does the throttle jockey graphics kit come with the Dunlop fork guard graphics or do you have to order those separately from the 95’ replica kit? Thanks.
no problem, I use a bunch of throttle Jockey's kits and they always turn our pretty good. I honestly don't like the front fork guard stickers that much, they are clear and that's the good thing.. also the bad thing.. dirt gets behind them and you always see it there @@CS-gn4qb
Wait. I have replaced clutch basket, springs, discs and plates with new OEM, filled with exactly the same oil as you and after 1 hour of enduro driving it started slipping from then on. Even the next day. I had not this problem before, so the only suspect was the oil, which was changed with one of the exact specs that the manual says. Have not tried to ride it yet, but tell me...didn't you have any clutch slippage issues? Take into consideration that I am climbing hills with it. I do not know if you push it so much.
I ride my bike pretty hard, how are your clutch friction plates? I always use that oil and have never had a problem on any of my bikes. If you still have problems I would be willing to try and help you figure it out
I’m not 100% sure what you are talking about. At 2:24 I show the rear brake fluid reservoir where you put “dot 4” break fluid I hope that helps with any confusion. The CR250 is a 2 stroke dirtbike so it actually doesn’t have oil in the engine like a traditional motor. It has oil for the transmission. And it actually uses oil mixed in the fuel to lubricate the crank, and piston in the top end.. Thanks a lot for the comment and if you want to know more about 2 strokes and 4 strokes and why they are different let me know. I can try and get a video out to help inform people. If one person doesn’t know then that means more people don’t know.. I’m more then happy to try and help someone learn that they love 2 strokes and just don’t know it yet :)
I do sell the bikes after the builds are done. I list them on Marketplace. If you are in Ontario Canada and looking for a bike there is a few good ones on there from time to time…. Or I post one about every 30 days.. lol. Thanks for the comment
On my 2001 cr250 they are from throttle jockey, good quality and they are really good at answering questions. On my cr500 I had them custom made by a company here in Canada. New Image Design. I think it’s an option, I think they call it the trim kit.. I can’t remember to be honest. It’s been a bit.
Ok, thanks I like the look of the 95’ kits on the 01. Still have the oem plastics and graphics on mine and they are due for a change
