  • The trek to the Island Peak Base camp is one of the most beautiful side treks to do on the EBC and Three Passes Trek. Day 04 was all about covering long distances. The Imja Tsho (5000 m) is one of the biggest glacial lake that I came across on the EBC and three passes trail.
    If you would like to learn how to become an independent trekker then do check out the week long field on speed hiking.

    Normally one would need to have a thermal baselayer , fleece jacket , wind breaker and a down jacket after the trek (towards the evening).
    I see that all of you guys are managing with rab as the second layer only.
    Either rab is too good or you have a very good acclimatization to winter since you stay in Manali for a good part of the year.

    • @Creedaz
      @Creedaz  Год назад +1

      Susceptibility towards cold varies from body to body. I would agree with you as in my case it is the acclimatization and the long term adaptation towards cold that has helped me become less susceptible to cold.
      Further, the jackets were good, I guess.

    A small question, how do you identify all the peaks? Do you use an app or something?
    Also, I think I met you guys during this trek while you were headed towards Dingboche :)

    Manav Sir, how can we work on our endurance to complete such hikes...it seems extremly challenging for first timers, some tips please

    • @Creedaz
      @Creedaz  Год назад

      Just include running in your daily routine and optimize the weight of your backpack. We don't usually struggle against the mountain, we struggle against the heavy bag that we carry on our shoulders.

    Hi...manav is it mandatory to take porter/guide for doing 3 passes/ebc??...i.e can we get permit for doing 3 passes??

    • @Creedaz
      @Creedaz  Год назад +1

      It is NOT mandatory to take a guide or porter. You can get the permit on the trail itself. Just carry you ID cards with you.

    What's your view on offloading culture in trekking??

    • @Creedaz
      @Creedaz  Год назад

      I don't relate to it much. But I guess, one can do it if he/she feels the need to do so.

    • @prasadpappu23
      @prasadpappu23 Год назад

      I think offloading spoils the whole point. There are many so called "trekkers" who can't even carry their own stuff and go for the high altitude leisure walk just to make stupid vlogs and reels. I can understand offloading as an emergency option in case of health issues but opting for offloading as a paid service is such a shame !

    • @vaibhavchelsea8
      @vaibhavchelsea8 Год назад +1

      I do Astro so I think can answer your question. Night sky depends on a lot of conditions depending on the season, the cloud cover, moon face, humidity, how high and how far you're from the lights. From March to October you can actually see milky way core in the sky, and after that comes the Orion season in the winter sky. Almost all the treks above Bortle 4 locations will give you amazing night sky keeping in mind the fact that there is no moon in the sky and if it would have rained a day before the sky becomes even more clearer. I live in Bortle 3 location in Himachal and the new moon nights are just amazing my friend, you can easily identify milky way panning across the sky.
