Totally agree....since Discovery became an American society it has become worthless with documentaries...almost everywhere there is an element of competition...little to no depth
And dont forget Boeing are criminals. They do give a damn about passengers safety. They are just greedy and put money over life. Loads of their planes dont meet full safety standards and u can see that by the last 737 max crashes
@Alanya 07 Airbus is an European company with assembly lines in the UK, France, Spain, Germany and some other countries whiles Boeing is based in the USA. Those two companies are rivals and share most of the commercial aviation market. (Imho Airbus is better)
This is just 1% or less shown to us in this Documentary, there's so much more details gone into making the Aircraft.. All I can say is this is one of the marvelous enginnered thing made by humans. Period
Yup. Pretty new Engineer to the aero industry, but i'm working on a project thats been in the making for 10years. Finally going into the test flight phase and it wont see full production / flying for another 4 years. Aerospace is incredibly difficult. I've changed my design so many times
Amazing!! I like how they show the whole process on putting an airplane together. The techs have a very important job making sure that those airplanes are built correctly and that it can safely fly.
The logistics must be insane. I can’t imagine it. Like everything with flying, it all seems like a miracle. From building a plane so it flies safe to the actual airport logistics. Wow.
Many employees….. not just 4 people scratching their heads . They have hundreds of people, lawyers, engineers, technicians… everyone deals with a little bit of the whole production. It’s a big company.
Just when I think I’m running a million dollar business efficiently, I see this! Incredible teamwork and planning here. Always been a huge fan of Airbus over Boeing. From an outside perspective it just always seemed like they focused on their customer as Boeing was all about hype and profits. Just my observation.
What amazes me more after watching this video, is the fact that a bunch of crudely trained men and housewives could have built over 3,900 B-29s successfully during WWII without all the sophisticated technology of today. As a very young child. I remember them flying by the dozens over my hometown, a few miles from Wichita, KS.
Process engineers don't get the credit they deserve. Being able to break an extremely complex plane down into a series of steps that untrained men and housewives could do efficiently and cheaply takes so much work and it such an untrivial task that it makes my head explode just thinking about it.
Totally agree....since Discovery became an American society it has become worthless with documentaries...almost everywhere there is an element of competition...little to no depth
Amazing engineering... The things we can now do still amazes me and makes me proud. However what I got from this is the constant time restraints that are in place. History shows us when we rush we make mistakes..
Engineers are my favourite kind of people.. freaken smart dudes, as someone who deals in software engineering its amazing to see the two come together.
I like generally like engineering and stuff but i would like to reach an unreachable height and what are the profession of the guys in the video the specific one they are doing because I really love that
I'd like to see a documentary on manufacturing stuff like rockets, jet skis , electric trains and destroyers in the future. You guys give good docs though.
If you're feeling discomfort, you might want to avoid ANYTHING then, because building things for faster and cheaper is literally the goal of any manufacturer, whether it's airplanes, cars or phones.
Some of these could be integrated quite nicely at Boeing, others are things that Airbus has recently integrated from Boeing's production. Hopefully both companies can continue to learn from one another and succeed.
33:08 we apply over a ton of paint, about 600 kg stays on the plane. Wow so what he was saying is only about 66% of the paint they use sticks to the plane? And he said over a ton so it could even be less sticking. That’a insane.
Hes not German though. He's obviously English but has been living in Germany and has started to use German inflection in his talking. It's quite a strange mix!
I think Emirates must change their livery, because it doesn’t look beautiful and kind of outdated. Interior is also looks like in then90s especially wooden furniture. Qatar and Etihad compare to Emirates, have more interesting interior with very modern, stylish and luxury design.
