Mostly the worst thing I dealt with at metal shows was getting someone with a concussion out of a pit to the medical tent. Which admittedly did happen quite a bit, but the crowd was pretty great about moving in that wall of the pit and making a path for us to get out, somtimes just stopping altogether if someone was all the way down or seriously bleeding. The worst show I ever worked was a taylor swift concert, people were straight up trampling each other and we had to pull barriers at the front to get people out of a crowd crush.

i don't think the idea is for him to sound amazing, it's just a whimsical and fun addition to the performance (and i understand she's done this at other shows, so it's not completely out of nowhere) on top of that he pitched his voice right up to the song and did probably as well as anyone who isn't a professional singer possibly could have, all while being on the spot in front of a crowd. he killed it, and i think people would have cheered regardless of how he sounded just for having the guts to do it
