You shouldn't let your vehicle down that fast and hard onto the jack stands. The jack stand is actually used as a safety. Nice video, thanks!

Wow this is one of the best videos I've ever seen the editing and the way you show us exactly how to do this is very good i have all those tools and that I've done it before sure helps. I have to replace cv axle, inner tie rod and bearing on rt frt 06 Toyota Sienna van. Btw, that cv axle was a sob with the bearing siezed in the bracket! I know you know! Can you say sawzall! Thanks for your awesome video.

To add to my question below,, or will the “Maddox front wheel bearing adapter set” work for a “mobile” mechanic most of the time?
But you used the press to get the new one in and seated also .. I just am confused if a “mobile” mechanic (mechanic that comes to your house) would be able to do this job without the press? Could you please give me your input on that.
I am subscribed. Liked the video.
and appreciate your candid response (about needing a press = yes or no) in advance

Hey, good morning TJ ..in my opinion, it's best to have both the mobile set and the 20-ton press...when I was doing mobile back then the master bearing removal set will do most cars I did but there's always that one that's a bitch to remove and a 20 ton press at home will come in handy...I hope this helps boss ...

So the people at the shop let you use the press to remove and insert the bearing and hub?

Is that the only way to remove the wheel hub? I only need to replace the wheel hub because 1 lugnut is broken. You can give me your old hub! Where is your shop, I will bring in the steering knuckle.

Hi mat if you only broke a lug nut you don't have to replace the hub boss ..you only have to replace the one lug nut..unless you have a bearing noise...

@@luckysdiygarage - How can you insert the lugnut without having to pull out the hub, pulling out the hub will very likely also take out part of the bearing. I've seen that. Also, I found the tool for this at O'Reilly. EverTough Hub Remover and Installer Kit - 67213

I have a question. If my mobile mechanic did NOT have a press at home such as you do,, would a good mechanic have a work around,, OR is that press a fundamental for this job. I don’t think the average “mobile” mechanic has a press. In your opinion if they don’t have a press available is this then a “shop job” only??,

Hi tj, a mobile mechanic should have a master bearing puller/installer but I bought a shop press for the house just in case I have that one bearing that just won't come out ...so to answer your question no this not a shop job only, if a mobile mechanic doesn't have a shop press or a bearing puller set they can remove the knuckle at there job site and take the knuckle to a shop to press the bearing real quick..some shops charge $25 to $45 dollars to press the bearing..like our shop charges $35 dollars to press the bearing if a customer brings the knuckle to us...hope this helps

Also, a good mobile mechanic should have the tools to get the job done..in my opinion
