Hi Morgan. Thank you for your posting. I'm a bit confused? I thought a bachelor's degree in accounting would make you a CPA and an associate's degree a CPB? Can you please explain that a little bit further? Thanks
Hi Morgan, thanks for sharing, I was referred to your chancel by Bookkeeper Bootcamp Thanks again to both of you for all your efforts and time and for sharing with us your experience and knowledge
I have been watching your videos this past week about starting Bookkeeping, which is something I've wanted to do for a couple years but didn't know where to start. I'm a homeschooling mom of 5, so being able to do this from home without having to pay $1000 or more for training was a must. Your videos are helping me so much! Thank you for these!!
Hey just got an email from someone who mentioned that you had mentioned me so I went looking and found this video (great job by the way) and of course I see the mention in the description, so I just wanted to say thank you! And I've subscribed as I've now watched a couple of your videos and they're great!!!
I followed the link from Cici's channel and I'm glad I did. I have an Associate's in Applied Accounting and have been a bookkeeper for 18+ years but have decided to take it virtual! You guys are great and I'm learning a LOT. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Wow, I'm sure you have some amazing experience and deep knowledge. Let me know if you have any specific videos you'd like to see about working virtually!
Hi. I am in my first semester studying towards Associate's in Applied Accounting. I am a little concerned about my future because I heard this degree has no growing opportunity in accounting field, and the pay is low (under 40k). Is this true? Thank you so much.
Thank You, this is a lot of help. I listened to CC as well. I have 10 years experience with QuickBooks, but am not certified. I am an empty nester and my husband and I just closed down a business and moved out of the area. I am wanting to stay at home and am very interested in starting a bookkeeping business. So far between you and CC I have gleamed a few things I need to do. Be blessed!
In your experience, what software is best for real estate bookkeeping? Keeping track of multiple properties with their individual expenses and being able to do analysis per property, while also having the big picture financials. Thanks for your input.
I haven't had experience with a real estate company, but I had a landlord who used classes in QuickBooks to separate properties. I think generally QB is the most robust, but wouldn't hurt to ask other real estate agents what they're using.
you totally made my day! I have been worried about getting certified through AIPB before going forward. Now I dont feel so pressured to get it done before putting myself out there. Thank you!

To make sure Amercian Institute or National Bookkeeping VS job training are the same.. I’m not certified but I got a job training and I used to be a bookkeeper for almost 6 years the only bad news is it was 4 years ago. I’m not sure if things have changed since.
The AIPB certification is better for people with a background in bookkeeping or accounting. The national bookkeeper association is better for newbies. It cost 3k.
I have been spending all day trying to learn more about bookkeeping. I hardly know anything at all but I think it sounds like something I would enjoy, but I am having a hard time figuring out how I should learn more before I spend money on something. I don't know a single thing. Maybe I should just go to a college?
Question for you. I'm trying to decide between taking a couple of college courses to prepare for the AIPB test or taking the AIPB's prep course. Pros for college classes would be that if I wanted to work towards an accounting degree I'm knocking out classes along the way. Pro for going directly to AIPB is that I'd be paying roughly $600 vs $3000 for the college classes. My concern for going with AIPB is just that I might not learn/retain as much without homework and regular assignments. I might be totally overthinking it so I'd love to hear your thoughts. Basically if you think just going straight to the source to learn more is the right direction to hear. Thanks!

Hello! I am interested in bookkeeping but I really don’t know where to start. I currently work for a financial loan company and I’ve been want to do something different with my life. I’ve never done bookkeeping or have any idea what bookkeeping entails. But I love to budget myself and sometimes I want to help my clients to budget themselves. But because of the work I do I can’t really help them with that. Legal reasons. I figured bookkeeping would be the best career for me. What do you recommend I do?
If someone has no bookkeeping experience or knowledge, does studying for the QuickBooks Pro Advisor test teach you what you need to know to get started bookkeeping, or do you recommend taking some bookkeeping courses and then the Quickbooks training? I got my associates in accounting at a University 10-years ago but don't remember a lot of what I learned.
Thank you morgan for the information regarding AIPB Certification! Any idea how to get the necessary experience (4000 hours) to be able to even take that exam?? I have no experience and am confused to how people would even get a job without training etc.
Hmm, good question. I haven't gone through that program personally, so I don't really know all of the details. I would imagine it's similar to an internship (either paid or unpaid). See if you can find more info on their website (or maybe Facebook groups with people going through it?)

I’m getting my associates in accounting and I want to start a bookkeeping business after I graduate. Do you think that degree will suffice with doing bookkeeping?
I also have an Associates and it gave me GREAT insight into accounting which, in turn, enhanced my bookkeeping expertise. I've never sat for either of the certifications for Public Bookkeeper but I did complete my QB ProAdvisor in 2014 Desktop version. That part really wasn't covered in the QB certification, although it may be now. Planning to get my QB certification in later desktop versions as well as QB online, so I'll see then. Thanks for watching! Nope, you don't need to! In fact, you're not supposed to unless you have special training/certification. I don't prepare taxes (but it's something I'm thinking about in the future).
