😂😂😂 maybe the mice were cooling down in body temp from being on the table and were no longer appetizing to the snakes. Nice to see we all struggle from time to time getting ball pythons to eat frozen. Had a good laugh and kicked off my morning with a smile hahah keep up the content ✅

One of my ball pythons is a finicky eater but the other would never dream of missing a meal! What you showed is just the reality of what feeding a new ball python is like. if more people would watch videos like this and did research before purchasing a baby ball python the Facebook reptile groups wouldn't be flooded with my new snake hasn't eaten what's wrong with it!!! Lol always a good watch! Have a great day!

Not that it’s important but to me , Kevin and NERD crew are now my favorite for reptile education/entertainment. Always felt he was the most knowledgeable of what he does. I didn’t realize how fricking funny he is, love his sense of humor. You all rock!

I understand now. I used to think feeding multiple pinkies would yeild more nutrition than a single mouse because there would be more bones and organs but if all of the bones and organs were together it would equal a mouse. I didn't think about proportions .

I keep them in a cave or under a tunnel whilst holding the mice/rats in front of them for 20-180 seconds. That way they can't see you and they take to it quite easily. 24 hours later i handle them for 30-50 seconds each, depending how bad they want back down and they take more easily to handeling between feedings. Personally i only got 2 ballpythons tho a few friends feel the same way with theirs.

All of that work is nuts. Take a live small rat pup with some fur, open the tub, throw it in, close the tub. Next. That's how I feed 95% of my BP hatchlings, even for the first meal.

It seemed like this guy suks at his technique and handling of the snakes. I have never seen someone feeding frozen thawed like that. That was almost like a force feeding. The mouse bullied the snake into eating it. Then he was feeding mice that have been sitting on cold steel table to snakes that are on the same cold steel table then after they strike and lock on the mouse putting them both on the cold steel table to finish eating.

It's also better to get BPs in rats rather than mice because there's more nutrients and less fat. I've also heard that baby BPs will grow much faster on rats, too.

My BP ate pinkies but that’s only because the people at the pet store didn’t know how to take care of him and I had to get him outta there they were force feeding him two of them a week because he wouldn’t eat off the tongs for them and when I got him all they had were pinkies so I left him three at night and he ate them so the next feeding I bumped him to rat pups and he struck and ate it and now he’s gained weight and some size he’s on a rat hoppers :)

    The captions cracked me up!
Pretty scrub python! Those are very underrated!
Also, why not feed the baby Ball Pythons rats right from the beginning? They should be able to take a fuzzy rat. I have one male that is an on and off eater and I think if I had fed him mice when he does eat it really wouldn't be enough nutrition. I know there are some that will only eat mice, but I'd use it as a last resort. Thankfully all mine will eat rats. The others eat pretty regularly unless in shed, and one female eats like gangbusters! She has tripled in size in just a few months on rats I breed myself. I think she might reach breeding size sooner than I expected.

So recently watched a video by Brian B. who assist feed ball pythons that have never taken a meal- He obviously didn't follow your "never feed...." just has me wondering does Kevin believe/do assist feedings to the few babies who seem to be taught how to eat? I am thinking yes of course since he does all he can for all his babies- Also I can see some breeders taking the "weeding out the weaker stance" but it would seem if that is your business you would at least try- What does NERD say?

The trying to feed snakes meals way too big by supposedly "Expert" snake breeders and handlers is driving me F*cking Insane! I have to tell you that it's so-called "expert" reptile RUclipsrs that are creating this problem. Just to make it perfectly clear I truly like Brian Barczyk. That out of the way, he is the biggest offender. Last year he tried feeding a pig that was way too large to his Retic and all it did was stress the sna ke out and the snake never could get it down. This past Thanksgiving he did the same damn thing only with a much larger turkey for the same snake. He made that snake go at it for 14 damn long super stressful hours only for the snake to NOT be able to get it down. It's not just snakes either. When he got toothless from you (the Black Dragon) he kept trying to feed it fuzzy mice. It didn't eat for over a month. From day 1 I keep telling him to feed it Crickets and other insects and NOT small mammals to a hatchling monitor. It was losing weight and not looking good. Finally he fed it a cricket and it devoured it. Now that's what he feeds it and Toothless is doing great. I've been keeping snakes and many exotics for about 52 years and I know what I'm doing but I still ask questions when it comes to breeds I'm new too. Feeding snakes for someone that has literally fed 10's of thousands like BB, he should know what size meal his animals can be fed. So either he doesn't really know anything about larger snakes (meal wise it's no damn different) or he's "pushing" it for RUclips subscriber's views & comments AND of course New subscribers. As I said, I know how and what to feed my animals but the vast majority of his viewers do not know and they're going to hurt, stress out & kill their snakes. The thing I'm afraid of most is censorship in the hobby that leads to laws and regulations that will eventually lead to the destruction of the hobby. RUclips will make this happen much much faster as it's an instant vehicle and any snd everyone will be downloading these videos to build and catalogue Evidence that will be used to eventually regulate us ALL out of business & herp keeping. Something must be done. All the big breeders in the industry especially the one's with RUclips channels NEED to get together and change these BAD business practices and highlight GREAT husbandry before it's too late and irreversible. We have to stop catering to 9 year olds that don't know any better and who look at their favorite RUclipsrs as celebrities and gods. These kids will see & believe ONLY that RUclipsr and no one or nothing else. In their eyes, they don't have to research any further because "B.B. already showed me how to do it".

Jake started off on adult mice, two rat pups, and has been on rats his whole life, 3yrs n March 2020, he's on med live now, Gawd I've tried to get him on ft, it's a nightmare when you did a medium rat and he decides he's off feed, n now the rats terrified on getting that sucker back out the tank and one bit me in the thumb and I dropped it and it terrorized me in my own house for 3 days straight, payback is a mother f straight I could have start a him off on Hoppers to be more safer, but I knew that he could take em (mice wnp), and I've never done a fee video without being right there, I've never left alive animal in with my 🐍, without a tool and prepared to take action if I need it to, ijs, but how in the Sam Hell would a ball python even be able to constrict a pinky mouse?🤔 I mean that's just common sense, 🤦right🤷, but seriously I'd rather anybody, ask anything, before making any mistake.

I want my second and last snake to be a yellow-bellied bumblebee ball python, do you think you would ever be able to produce one for me?, apparently they're not that popular because nobody ever ever ever has them, and Jake was supposed to be a yellow-bellied normal, who just turned out to be a normal, and, I'm sure that, the dude knew, because he does this all the time, like he knows what he's doing, when it comes to the reptile thing, like the back of his hand, and it was just a coincidence, that I'm from Chicago, and he lives in Chicago, and course he shifted To me overnight, and though I found out he was in a yellow belly, he was still priceless to me I guess I just wanted something with bright colors for as cheap as I could afford that the time, but nobody on this Earth will ever be able to buy Jake from me, he's in my Will, all joke's, on who to donate him to, because nobody n my fam CLD do it, their to scared to visit me bcuz of him. I had surgery and they were too scared to come over just to wet the towel on top of the screen for his humidity, and there's a lock on the cage.
