    I’m amazed how your young children are willing to try foods they never had before. This is something very good and it will help them in the future to explore more

    Awesome Video! Highly recommend Feuerzangenbowle 🥰 my favorites all sorts of Bratwürste, Langos and Lachsbrötchen.

      I ordered a Feuerzangenbowle, but I didn't get the one where they light the sugar on fire, so I was a bit disappointed. I'll have to pay closer attention to where I get it next year!

    Yea the Leipziger Waffeln are iconic. It's a relic from eastern Germany, probably older. I ate them when I was a kid. =)

    It's amazing how many different food selections there are on the different Christmas markets all over Germany. Reibekuchen or Kartoffelpuffer you get pretty much everywhere. Maybe at the end of this year you can also visit more Christmas markets outside of Sachsen to find even various more goodees.

      It's so awesome to be able to find so much delicious food, and we really are looking forward to visiting some markets in different parts of Germany to taste some new foods and drinks!

      Danke! Yeah, our kids speak much better German than we do, but they get a lot more practice in the schools. Schönes Neues!

    Love the finnish part of Leipzig markt. Sadly it was small and lacked alot due to last years corona closures. They said they will have the full market back next year. I miss eating alot of the baked good since gluten wrecks me. Deffinately miss handbrot and many yummy christmas market treats.

    I would recommend the candy apple (the red apple) for the kids. I loved those when I was a child and some times I still get those for a trip down the memory lane.

      We saw them and they looked amazing, but we didn't end up getting any this year. But at least we'll have new things to try next year!

    Ohhhh lots of nice things here to eat and check out. The apple punch is my favourite. Give Dresdner Handbrot (by the Exchange) a try. I spot a big faux pas with the Langos tho...the top stand is Christel's opposite Mexx on Peterstraße. Next time :D Still Langos is a wonderful Christmas market food.

      @OnwardMJ  2 года назад

      Ohhh, we didn't know! We honestly knew nothing about Langos but saw so many people eating them that we had to try. And the stand we got them from had a long line, so we figured it must be good (and it was). But now we know for next year!

    I forgot about Langos 😍😍😍 I actually think it is Hungarian🤔, isn't it? At least that is what we would always eat when visiting my grandpa who lived in Hungary.

      I don't know anything about the origin of them - in fact we never heard of them but we kept seeing so many people eating them and such long lines at the stands that we had to try them - and they were delicious!

    Sorry if I raised your expectations too high on the kräbbelchen. Maybe it is a childhood memory thing... ;) However, with the other vendor you would probably have been even more disappointed. Glad you liked the other stuff, in particular the cream waffles. While the taste and texture of the waffle and the cream is indeed special, I would think that those are not a typical Leipzig thing though.

      No worries, my kids really enjoyed them. I feel like they had a lot of potential, but just missed the mark. Maybe just a little fluffier in the dough and they would've been better... Maybe it was just an off batch when we got there or we got the bottom of a batch instead of fresh ones. I'll try again next year!

      Then maybe Poffertjes (Dutch mini-pancakes with butter and optionally egg liquor) are more for you. .. ;)
