Stalheimskleiva is one of the steepest roads in Northern Europe, built during 1842-1846. The road has 13 hairpin bends, with Stalheim Hotel located at the top. From here you will get a beautiful view of the road and the Nærøydalen valley, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You can also explore Stalheimsfossen and Sivlefossen waterfalls, which are located on each side of the road.

En virkelig flott film
Beautiful!!! I was on holiday in Norway from 10th till 27th july. I did a roundtrip: Started in Oslo, train to Flåm, boat to Bergen, stayed there for a week, then boat to Stavanger and finally train back to Oslo. I did the walk from Myrdal to Flåm. That also has a lot of hairpins. As I said, I walked down. It was a very nice day. This video is also very nice.
Thank you for the kind words, Nærøydalen is the neighboring valley to Flåmsdalen. Nærøydalen has much steeper and higher mountains. The road on which I cycled has been closed for several years, the dry walls of the road collapsed, so it opened this summer and can only be cycled or walked.
@@imh9456 the part, that has been newly paved? I was for just one day in Flåm. It was also very nice weather, and had the choice of what to do: fjordcruise Nærøyfjorden or take the walk myrdal-Flåm. I chose for the latter
Great to see you back😀
@HeadbandHarvest greetings , how is life down under
@@imh9456 life down under is a little cooler than usual this year, having to wear thick socks with my flip flops 😀
@@HeadbandHarvest well i hope you using thick woolen socks hehe
Beautiful video. I remember when this was the only road available on the way from Bergen and eastward to Lærdal. Biggest fear was meeting someone heading the opposite way. A lot of reversing to nearest passing point. Same was for the Måbødalen road which is sadly closed permanently after a rock slide.
Still we have nattow road like this in daily use here in Norway.
Great to see you back IMH. Magic video 🤩
Glad you like the video, simply to much to do at work so little time to make videos.
Thank you for the nice video!
Thank you for the kind words.
