    As a latina marine biologist working offshore in O&G industry, I totally undertand the sexism in our field and lack of role models. Thank you for speaking up and sharing these problems and knowledge to the general public. I really wish your talks open people's minds and encourage other girls and women to join Science. You already are a role model. You go, girl! 💕

      the reality is when polled for center of interests women respond they dont have much interest in science , that s a fact !

    When I think shark researcher I think Ocean Ramsey and she might be very beautiful but the reason she is kinda my rolemodel is because of her achievements

    all your guyses comments make me wanna cry. I'm a crybaby. but she's right! I love her!!! Right now I'm taking a chemistry class and every once in a while I have looked up female scientists and the story always seems to be she did some important work and was neglected until some guy decided to take credit for it.

    I guess the same unfair, biased inequality due to sexism exists in other fields scientific or otherwise. The challenge is a historical one stemming from male dominance outside the home, which was the default domain for women for millenia. Greater awareness and communication on the subject such as this very good talk by this energetic, young lady will help resetting the bias, tradition slowly over time.

    You are a scientist.
    You know that women are now 50% of the workforce ... and 60% of college graduates.
    If women are under-represented in some professional fields, what does this imply?

    • @TheAwesomes2104
      @TheAwesomes2104 Год назад

      It's just so funny that you're boohooing a woman who swims with sharks and got dragged away from her team by a crocodile in the middle of the night, and said calmly "Guys, Something's got me." as it happened and didn't freak out.
      She's obviously got way stronger nerves than you, me, and most of the people who've seen this, but once she starts talking about the other struggles she's faced, then it's all "Oh, boohoo, what a baby." That woman is one of the most badass mfers on this planet.
      She even says she was interested in sharks because they scared other people and dives with them all the time, then you're gonna accuse her of being what, an overly sensitive crybaby?

  • @Imsolaris

    Meh!
    "I am a woman, and because of that I was put a apart in the field" .... "I am a woman, and I do not have conditions for be pregnant, or have my period or breastfeed, plus I am obvious smaller and shorter than everyone else on the boat so don't count with me for heavy lifting".
    Make up you mind.
