Where exactly did you hear that the newborns need to have to build their esophagus to be strong enough before they can eat exactly? Because I’ve heard that it’s similar to horses with colostrum that the baby infant birds need to eat as soon as possible or else they’ll suffer from brain damage what makes it harder for them to eat later down the road. Like if they don’t eat in a certain amount of timeframe it makes them a little brain dead and that’s why you see a lot of the times mother struggling to feed the second born because they just don’t understand how to take from the beak as well as the first borns do, is because of brain damage
I’ve also heard that they can go 24 hours without feeding due to the yolk, but that’s always been very confusing for me because I can always see that the mother eats the yoke as soon as the babies are born or hatched because there’s the yolk inside the egg and the mothers usually eat that so I’ve always been really confused about that statement and I’ve also wondered is the baby gonna be able to poop if it doesn’t eat because if it does, that means maybe there is yoke that it eats, but I don’t know there’s no actual documentation of this is just what I’ve heard so I don’t really consider it fact until I see it in the online records they have massive amounts of records from before times of the video camera they used to log this they just have document all this by hand very interesting
I saw the goshawk kill 3 chicks, and was surprised at the fact that the first one to challenge the goshawk stood just as tall. I'm assuming you saw this video.they scuffled, the Gh had his talons, first down low then readjusted higher. After a few minutes, the chic out of the picture, stopped moving, gone. Sad to see the others easily dispatched by beak. I guess I was surprised, but came to realize the chicks didn't have the fighting instinct or experience. They aren't entering a life of kill or be killed when catching mainly fish. I'm living and learning, and with this increased scrutiny we all have now, there are many learning the reality of how difficult these animal's lives are.

Sometimes it’s not so easy to figure out what’s going on: I couldn’t figure out which chick was the first one to be takin by the Goshawk( the second year) And then later on you told us the oldest female was the only chick left in the nest. Sometimes we think we know the answers, because I thought the oldest chick was the first one to be takin, but to be sure, I went back to the scenes before the Goshawk came and I was trying to keep my eyes on the chicks to see where they were in the nest, like The Shell game but without the shells😄…lol But the camera plays tricks on you. For instance, when a scene fades out and it comes back on, the camera is showing the chicks from a different point of view, so you wonder if the chicks moved around. Now that both of them were bird-napped I suppose it doesn’t matter who went first. Now I feel so bad for both! Their little crops were full and they were napping in the cozy nest and suddenly, just like that they were snatched. I hope they were killed quickly with the talons and not eaten alive. I especially feel bad for the younger one, the way he played second fiddle to his older sister. I secretly wished she was the first taken,but not knowing they would both be gone. I also wish the mother didn’t fly after the Goshawk. That’s what he was counting on. If mom would have just stay in the nest with her protective wings covering her babies, they’d most likely be safe. Anyway, it’s like you said “Nature has a way of keeping things in balance” but I wish Nature didn’t choose the Booted Eagle mother two years in a row! 😢Thanks for reading my long comment.☺️
pejantan elang biasa berada jauh dari sarang sama seperti red tiled hawk,elang tutul,dan goshawk jika telur2nya sudang menetas para pejantan tidak banyak menghabiskan waktu di sarang ataupun didekat sarang berbeda dengan bald eagle,elang laut putih,osprey dimana sang pejantan selalu berada dekat sarang atau bahkan ikut menyuapi anak-anaknya pada saat sang induk tidak disarang 😊

The goshawk got the attention of the booted eagle mother to leave the nest, and the trick was the same as the previous year's incident.
