Journey is one of those games where you sit at the end crying over the beauty of the game and the story with how it touched you to the very marrow of your bones. This is an absolutely stunning game that takes your breath away each time you play, since you always take away something new at the end.
Courtney Guinane how do you take. Something new at end..isnt it same ending?
this game is such a piece of art!! love it every second
They need to reprint this book. It costs a fortune now!
Aye ! I'd lkove a reprint, it's impossible to get the book now, I missed out on it when it was 60 dollars, now it costs 20 times that lol
I was dearly hoping you guys would release an artbook. AND HERE YOU ARE ANSWERING MY DREAMS!!
Journey was the best videogame experience I ever had, and since that summit along with my sister I started to worship thatgamecompany and I'm totally buying this one.
the physical copy releases tomorrow, it was first released onto PSN only, the physical copy called the Journey Collector's Edition contains two other games made by ThatGameCompany: Flow and Flower, its $30, it also comes with a voucher that gives you a month of PS+ membership
I can't put into words, the impact of this journey. Through the tears brought on because of this experience, only one word comes to mind... Perfect
Jeff Morgan of Daqri looks like he's related to John Travolta
Damn, Austin Wintory's soundtrack is so beautiful it makes my heart ache
No matter how much i play this it never gets old :)
Just played the most wonderful game ever. Journey. There was a shiny golden beautiful avatar that helped me and loved me. I love you, i love the game.
Hands down the greatest experience I have had in over 25 years of gaming. What you created with Journey was truly beautiful and look forward to seeing all the art!
I have loved every game that thatgamecompany has created, and each new game blows me away even further than I had ever hoped possible. Journey made me experience real emotions that I had never even though possible from a video game... if you can even call Journey that. It is a work of art!
Wherever thatgamecompany goes next ill be sure to follow :)
loved this game from start to finish... every1 should play it
Hearing the music again gave me tingles.
This is was waaay to short, please make a longer version, loved it
I was so happy when I got to borrow a PS3 so I could buy this game. Journey is an indescribable experience- one that I think everyone should dive into at least once. What an amazing and incredible project. I will be more than happy to buy the art-book and Collector's Edition of this.
As a PC player, I am incredibly jealous I don't have this game. I would buy a PS3 just for this.
I really like the prototype designs for the player character.
Quite possibly one of the (if not THE) most affecting singular gaming experience i've ever had.
Sublime.
I made sure to play solo on my first playthrough and looked for a companion on my second, I nearly cried as he disconnected moments before the end. Actually I think I did shed a tear. Such a beautiful game, visually, musically and everything else. Proof that gaming isn't just about kids swearing and encouraging violence. I love the way multiplayer is anonymous and allows for a meaningful experience and not just "I bet ur score" il be doing a full length review soon.....
Not a sequel, but another journey. Maybe a Journey 2 where you need to go to the same mountain but in another path as another traveler. It would be nice to see more of this lovely world out there.
I really want the artbook...I completely missed this release...OTL
Journey is one of the best games I've ever played, thank you, thagamecompany !
I wholly agree with you that TGC does not really need to make another Journey and that their time is very well spent doing whatever comes next. I for one am very excited to see what Kellee Santiago does next. I find it hard to describe how sad I am knowing I will not get to experience a similar but new Journey with all the power of the first. I think the visual style and contextual relationship with others will be missed dearly in the future. Good luck to TGC following up Journey, I CAN'T WAIT.
THANK YOU.
I really hope that someday Journey will be ported to multiple platforms. I think that everyone should be able to experience Journey.
overflowing emotions~
TGC has stated that the game was meant to be singular, and representative in it's own right as a highly original work of interactive art. By creating a sequel they would kill the MO that was behind the that original thesis of the game - an original emotionally engaging experience meant to stand alone and not be repeated. I say hell with that! COME ON MAKE JOURNEY 2!!!
i loved the game i remember the game from begining to end. The game brought a new experience of gaming and i loved it.
Truly amazing.
The most beautiful game I have ever laid eyes upon.
I love this game. Such a beautiful and emotional experience. Thatgamecompany I salute you.
Me too. I have no PS3. I played on a cultural center that was having an exposition about games.
The game was truly an inspiration, I'm certain that the book will be no different.
Thank you!
Journey is a proof: creative team can do original art games!
can't wait to get this game!
Awesome journey!
BUYING THIS BOOK ASAP
Journey. Game with a soul.
First time I played through the game, I rushed through it John Rambo style and my reaction was so so...then I explored every detail the second time around, and was fortunate enough to find and keep a buddy early along the way, all til the end. I'm somewhat of an alpha male in mindset, but this game broke me down. Beautiful.
2ND EDITION OUT NOW ON BLUECANVAS GO GO GO
Please stop. We don't need a sequel. It would not add anything new. Thatgamecompany's time is best spent doing completely new things with each project.
Thanks sony and ThatGameCompany for the best game i had ever played! In the future ...maybe 300 or 400 years people will recognise games as art and they will say about this unique game That god helped us to made
I'm in love with this game ...
Also, kudos to them for using an Android tablet for the AR stuff.
Love this game
TGC should finish The Last Guardian. They understand art in video games probably better than Team ICO ever could and could probably finish it a hell of a lot quicker too. But hey I'd even love it if they ever did a collaboration too :)
Well, I dunno if it "needs" a sequel. I think it stands on it's own as a magnificent experience, however I do WANT A SEQUEL SO BAD!
Absolutely. Stop thinking. Just play it.
This is masterpiece !
very inspirational
I'm not sure I agree. Although I agree that Journey itself was very much a complete experience on its own, the idea behind it (the game space that allowed for so many unique social interactions between players) has a lot of potential to be explored more perhaps in other "Journeys." A direct sequel would be an awful idea, but I'm personally not against one that is more of a sequel in spirit.
i love this game so much!!!
this game .. is the most beautiful game a never played !
I would love to add this artbook to my collection!
Foi o único jogo que eu tive vontade de jogar na minha vida. Sempre fiquei assistindo outras pessoas jogando jogos diversos. Mas Journey é tão incrível que eu senti essa necessidade de jogar. Valeu a pena. É poético!
TGC would never make a sequel to this game. Which I'm grateful for.
this game needs a sequel
Gimme Gimme! I want this book! :D
Keep going playstation!!!!you're the best!!!!!
I'd buy a Collector's Edition with the art book and a figure of the two travelers.
i cant wait!!!!!
OMG THANK YOU! The art world finally realizes some of us are tired of regurgitated Warcraft/Diablo3/GodofWar-looking environments... although admittedly God of War is still pretty creative. Every other adventure/fantasy tries to copy the Blizzard look tho.
then get it now! The game has been out for a while bro! :D
Foi o jogo mais belo que joguei até hoje. Espetacular.
The problem with that statement is that you expressly describing it as a 'game', however it's more an 'experience' than any other video game I've ever played.
You *cannot* compare Journey with *any* other video game, it is it's own kind of beauty.
Art is a fluid definition for many mediums, and as some have said, is subjective. The only difference between this and a painting by an artists is that this is more immersive and interactive. On behalf of games such as Journey, Limbo, Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, I object to this black and white notion of 'art'. It seems particularly unfair considering all of these, and several others, place particular emphasis and detail on the unusual and aesthetic.
An amazing game.
Well said.
Don't complain about spoilers, you should already own this game :)
This is what made me break down and buy a PS3, I genuinely urge people if you can find a PS3 for 200-250 dollars DO IT!
Jenova Chen is a true genius!!!
Totally love the game, i,m thinking about to make a cosplay costume.
Cool! :D
The book looks gorgeous. I wish this game was available on more platforms! Maybe a mac/pc version...?
Love it so much
That's great and everything, but now MAKE JOURNEY AVAILABLE ON STEAM!!
this game really needs to be on other systems!
I have no PS3, I would love this on PC
I like the old character model
If I can't play this game, at least I can look at the art! (Please Sony, PC release, please...)
Aww I want one of these books so bad D:
I agree with haidar541, except for the god part.
I hope that by this game other big developers want to make more art like games. Games with emotion.
sony should released this game and flower and flow on ps vita. great indies.
Ain't going to happen, I'm afraid. ThatGameCompany's contract for Journey, Flow and Flower rests firmly with Sony.
"has to be a classic" i say good work.
First time I played journey and I got to the end I was like this O-O OMG OMG BEAUTIFUL!! I really love this game and I am a HUGE fan of journey!!! p.s I have white robe in it
I NEED THE ART BOOK
Nah, not a sequel, but a DLC sand surfing level pack would be awesome.
I'm going to buy the fuck out of this game, oh my god, I'm so excited.
He isn't complaining about Journey not being on PC. He said he hopes to see it on PC, while PS3 is unappealing.
I mean, I don't upgrade my PC just to play 1 game.
The art books good and all.. but what about Journey 2?
Like maybe the story before the war that killed everyone
I'd totally buy that
TGC the creating company was under contract with SONY for three games, starting with flow. In the last year I have to say that this is the most fulfilling game I have played and done so on numerous occasions. I agree with you that the irony is disappointing. The great thing is that more Xbox owners (myself included) are wondering why Microsoft is still placating meatheads instead of supporting innovative games like Journey. I have not bought an Xbox game since 2010, no decent games anymore.
wow
I really really want to play this, but I don't have a PS3 or know anyone who has one, I would love a release for Wii U or for PC but I know that that probably wont happen, and that makes me sad
I meant I'm from Europe too and I'll have to pay more to buy it from ebay ;d. It was little sarcastic ;D.
:D That's me!
It would be incredible with a journey 2... although i feel like that would be TGC pushing it too far.. i bet their next project will be incredible aswell.. and its exciting to think about what they might produce.. although theres just something in me that wants more journey.... or i guess another " emotional " gaming experience.. flower is good and all.. but journey for me was far more emotional..
This needs to go to pc.
It's a PS exclusive right? Ironic that a game about crossing boundaries between people can't cross the boundaries between platforms. I'd love to have this on my Xbox (if the hardware could handle it).
