Good questions. The C lady was not able to answer why rioters are engaging in criminal activities. She admitted those were wrong but she didn't care because she wanted to change the system - i.e. overthrowing the current govt.
He asked if they only want a law that they like. That’s exactly what they are doing. She tried so hard to say no but at the same time all the things she said screamed “yes!”
They were a mob without principle and discipline to begin with. They had not in the slightest reasoned or rationalized before their actions. They have no tangible plan to achieve their goal other than to damage and destroy their city, to what end? They didn't think it through. They have no leader that upholds a worthy ideal and believes in their cause. This has been the equivalent of a badly-influenced child throwing a tantrum at home.
That young lady needs to answer all the relevant questions put to her by the journalist and not just put all the blames on the Hong Kong police force. Those are fundamentally important questions with regards to the rule of law and needs to be addressed rationally without which you will be seen merely as rioters/terrorist.
I think the host is quite wholistic in understanding the big picture, that he even interviewed Horace Cheung later on, that's really some professional portrayal of journalism. Some do say that it's weird that some media only portray one side of the story excessively and sometimes, exaggeratively, while ignoring the other side of it, but I think he and the Deutsche Welle have done a great job in covering the entire topic from many aspects and provide an impartial insight for the viewers to see the difference between them and analyse for themselves. Tim's a great journalist I can say.

At first the black tee student damaged something and detained by secuirty officer in a room, waiting for the police. At 3mins or so, you can see her hand appeared on the right side of the screen, pointing at the security officer, after that her voice dominated the incident. At 8 mins she can see her face, and confirmed all the foul langauage was spoken by her.

It's good for societies that teenagers, kids have ideals and dreams. But in the end it must be up to an adult to make the decisions not them.
The interviewer is good - sharp and spot on. The lady is …. she lacks ground to support what is she is "fighting" for.
They were a mob without principle and discipline to begin with. They had not in the slightest reasoned or rationalized before their actions. They have no tangible plan to achieve their goal other than to damage and destroy their city, to what end? They didn't think it through. They have no leader that upholds a worthy ideal and believes in their cause. This has been the equivalent of a badly-influenced child throwing a tantrum at home.
That young lady needs to answer all the relevant questions put to her by the journalist and not just put all the blames on the Hong Kong police force. Those are fundamentally important questions with regards to the rule of law and needs to be addressed rationally without which you will be seen merely as rioters/terrorist.
I think the host is quite wholistic in understanding the big picture, that he even interviewed Horace Cheung later on, that's really some professional portrayal of journalism. Some do say that it's weird that some media only portray one side of the story excessively and sometimes, exaggeratively, while ignoring the other side of it, but I think he and the Deutsche Welle have done a great job in covering the entire topic from many aspects and provide an impartial insight for the viewers to see the difference between them and analyse for themselves. Tim's a great journalist I can say.
