Today it 2016, and this 35th anni special, is almost 30yrs old itself...time sure fly's...thanks for this trip down memory lane 👍
RIP John Palmer Willard Scott and Hugh Downs and now Jim Hartz and now Barbara Walters
and Dick Clark :(
I remember this very well
TODAY on Prime Time and this was back when TODAY aired for 2 Hours in the Daytime instead of 3 hours and now 4 hours which is an overkill
John Chancellor at 33:09 my favorite NBC Nightly News Anchor as a boy in the 70s
Jim Hartz & Willard Scott anchored WRC Ch 4 together in the late 70s
I never knew that. LOL.
This was so historical since most of these people have passed at the 70th year .
and the today show died a long time ago.
I think the speculative piece and interview on the future of television...in 2022...is worth a watch! 43:00 onwards.
Very prescient in many ways if you think about the features they show. Including the 2/3 second ads lol given we have 6 second ads on RUclips now, and Tiktoks of less than a minute.
are Bryant and Jane walking in front of the future studio 1a? I know it was a bank prior
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Hope you have more WXII footage from back in the day.
bryantci You are welcome. I need to go through some old VHS tapes and see what I have,
Where is Barbara?
One month until the 70th anniversary 35 years later
I think 🤔 that TODAY AT 35 actually aired 💨 on the night 🌚 of January 31, 1987, at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, not January 14 of that year.
Today is Jan. 14, 2022, and while we're not trapped in the world envisioned here, we do have some of the technology.
43:17, we’ve made it through the year 2022 already.🌈🌈 Thanks, Jane. LOL.
Damn, Bryant. Easy on Willard.
20:40 : The ubiquitous John Daley: head of ABC news, host of 'What's My Line ' on CBS and here in a TODAY show clip.
Man I wanted to watch Hunter
The Today Show was at it's best when it was a serious news oriented show with Frank McGee in the early 70's. When the 90's rolled around it was becoming fluff and silly.
Agree! Dumbed down
Well they weren't bad at predicting the future!
Well you do have robotic cameras but not AI just yet.
The 2 John's NBC News Anchors Chancellor and Palmer
1952- Patricia Highsmith's Price of Salt.
15:16, The Today girl!
4:42 Jason, _MOTHER IS TALKING TO YOU!_
I have such a hard crush on Jane
They railroaded her out for Deborah Norville. Always knew it was a bad choice. Jane was such a great fit for the morning show.
Same here as a little kid & childhood. The Bryant/Jane/Willard/John Palmer/Gene Shalit team are GOLDEN.
Hugh Downs and Williard Scott still alive.
RIP Hugh Downs
They died
And now Jim Hartz
And now Barbara Walters
I'm hearing rumors about some thing called "The Internet" but my small and feeble 1950's mind can't comprehend what could happen. If you can teach me, I'm willing and able to sell you some cryptocurrency
All the news shows are trash nowadays after the first 25 minutes..
RIP John Palmer Hugh Downs Willard Scott and now Jim Hartz and now Barbara Walters
and also Florence Henderson
Newsman legend Frank Mcgee was the best host from 70-74 .
