    A nicely turned double play is one of the most aesthetically pleasing things to see in baseball (unless you're the one hitting into one).

    Can you do a video on good fielding drills for utility players? I play all over the place, and I don't normally have time to practice at every infield position, then do outfield practice. Thanks for your time!

    • @AntonelliBaseball
      @AntonelliBaseball  5 лет назад +1

      I don't think the drills change. It's just about managing your time and making sure you are moving around each practice. Good luck to you! Thanks for watching our videos and commenting!

    You should be chopping feet and not be on bag at all, you sweep bag and kick up dirt with right foot. You play short stop, you know the dirty secret is we sometimes don’t even actually touch the bag, we kick dirt and ump gives it up to us

    What is the worst injury you ever saw while playing?

  • @MyerheadsCards
    @MyerheadsCards 5 лет назад

    What about the concept of "working through the ball", i.e., staying behind the base, chopping your feet, and then touching the bag and making the 'left foot to the ball' move all in one fluid motion? "Working through the ball" in this fashion was the main concept Johnny Reina was teaching in the most-recent infield drill video you posted.

      @AntonelliBaseball  5 лет назад +1

      Michael Myers I teach this, Johnny teaches a step or so behind the base. Either is fine. Concepts stay the same. Thanks for watching!!!

    Matt, ever get coached or taught to catch ball on back side of glove to make turning 2 quicker? I am a little older than you. That is how we practiced receiving the ball at 2nd and than using same foot work to make throw. To be honest, we practiced it hundreds of times but rarely did it in game. Way too much can go wrong trying to catch it on back side of glove. Basically, throw hits your glove, and you use throwing hand to secure it so you don't have to fumble around in the leather to throw. Just curious if this is ever used anymore. Thanks

      We used to mess around with it when I was younger, but never taught to do so. Thanks for watching our vids and commenting I appreciate it!!

      @@AntonelliBaseball our high school coach was older. Must have been a thing when the gloves were crap and hunks of leather. Lol. When I played in College, the equipment obviously got better and I learned not all gloves were created equal or meant for every position. Thanks for the reply. Keep doing what you are doing and congrats on the 100 k subs. Will you do a video to show your RUclips 100 k plaque? I can tell you aren't a showboat, but I think your subscribers and fans would really like it. You deserve a "curtain call". Not an easy accomplishment.

    Which is the hardest position to play, Short, Third or Second ? '

    • @JackC_Show
      @JackC_Show 5 лет назад

      For me it was 2nd, cause the ball comes at an opposite, sidewise spin off the bat. 3rd was all hands and Short was legs. But the Shortstop is the Captain of the field and needs to have the highest Baseball IQ.

    hey matt, i have a question. i dont play baseball anymore, just a fan now.
    so, say theres a guy on first. the batter hits the ball into the outfield, the outfielder catches it. now, the guy on first can get forced out at 1st if he isnt on the base. if he wants to advance bases, he has to “tag up” and run after the outfielder has caught the ball.
    my question is: why does this rule exist? cant a player normally run the bases at any time when the ball is in play? why would they make a rule limiting the runner in this way?
    thanks! ive just been wondering, thought you might be a good person to ask. feel free to make a video about this, that would be cool!

      Kelso Bradshaw because if a ball was hit super high they would just be able to make it home without any contention. It would be awarding failure
