  • Another golden video with tons of valuable instruction from Nick Shaw, former Brewers Middle Infielder, where he tells us everything we need to know to turn 2 from shortstop. When it comes to turning 2, there are so many little things that can make a big difference and help you get those 4-6-3 or 6-4-3 double plays. Coach Nick Shaw and Coach Madden discuss double play depth, fielding the ball at shortstop for a double play, throws vs flips, and the footwork around the bag. If you are a shortstop, this video is a must see!

    Thanks for the great instructional video, Coaches Madden and Shaw. Anxious to show this to my 12yo son. I know it'll be a big help! I especially love the tip about the imaginary line and flipping anything to the left of it.

    I just got back from an all star game and my team was winning 9-0. We thought we were gonna win so we took out our pitcher put and put a not as good one in. After we did that, the other team started scoring runs like crazy. We got to the bottom of the 6th inning and it was tied 9-9. There was a kid on 3rd andI was playing RF and a kid on the other team hit a bomb and I raced about 40 feet away and caught it a foot from the fence. Immediately whipped it home and reached but was a half step late and they won 9-10.

    • @baseballdad746
      @baseballdad746 7 лет назад +1

      Great story, but I'd be careful posting online that you think the other guy is "not as good." Every pitcher on your team needs to think the guys behind him have full confidence in him. A lot of times at a young age, the "good" guys are just the guys who naturally throw hard and it's the weaker guys who are learning how to actually pitch. When you all mature, that guy who can really pitch is going to have an advantage. God bless, and go get 'em next time!

    • @ohiobaseballchannel8807

      Justin Filippone those are training gloves to work on quick hands.

    • @baseballdad746
      @baseballdad746 7 лет назад +1

      A lot of middle infielders prefer a much smaller glove simply because it makes for an easier transfer. Less room for the ball to move around in there.
