Keep ‘em coming, really enjoying watching this tournament. Brings back great memories watching the show as a youngster.

16:11 People used to ask me at the time of the showing “What are you going to do with all that money?”.
16:15 Now, they ask “What did you do with all that money?”.

I'm sure this has been asked in the other 2 videos, but when will the rest of the second match of this episode (as well as the Semis and the Finals) show up on here?

Just how the randomness of memory works… I was either 6 or 7 and watched TTD nightly with my family and for some absolutely random reason Wilbur Hicks name stuck with me all of these years. No rhyme or reason as to why, I’m 48 now and I clicked this video just to see if Wilbur Hicks was represented here.

I was hoping Thom would make it past the quarterfinals but the tie-breaker stumped him. Well played game between him and Wilbur

When the dragon wasn’t taking away money from contestants, he doubled as the announcer and sounded like Charlie O’Donnell

Marc looks like David Ruprect from Supermarket Sweep.

You have either a vivid imagination, or a poor memory. I see no resemblance. Rupprecht was doing Real People at the time this aired and he neither looked nor sounded like Mark Leinwand

In 1979 Eileen Jason won that Tournament Of Champions and won $250,000 then in 1980, Rob Griffin won the last Tournament of Champions and won $500,000 ( shared with the "March Of Dimes
In 1980, "The Joker's Wild host Jack Barry mentioned that this was the largest amount of money ever awarded on any quiz show.

What is the difference between regular Tic Tac Dough and the Tournament of Champions?

In the tournament they play for the grand prize to go to charity while in regular play a champion is on until they are defeated

Well, for one, there was no bank during the main game (the boxes were worth nothing in this version while during the regular game, the center was worth $300 while the others were worth $200) and second, the loser played Beat The Dragon for a shot at $5,000 for their charity as opposed to the winner playing for a prize package. If the dragon beat them, they still get $1,000 as opposed to winning nothing and playing another game against a new opponent.
