Crosswinds were fluctuating throughout the afternoon. varying from 70 to 90 degrees of crosswind at typically 28 kts gusting to 45 kts. for my airline and my aircraft the max is 38 kts. of crosswind. Some less conservative airlines may Not include the gust. We do. I'd say that in the 1 1/2 hour we watched landings, 75% ended in aborted landing. Others likely wished they had. Take off was eventful but not as treacherous.

They should've closed down NRT that day temporarily if every flight was going to do a go- around because of the weather.
