Dude that sounds killer - - on your guitar what gauge \ brand string are you you using? I know you play some high end guitars so I wanted your opinion on this guitar - - www.balaguerguitars.com/product/the-growler/ - - have you heard of these?
Quick question. I just made the band at my church, and need to learn all 7 songs on the setlist asap. I hear you talk about the different guitar parts a lot, where do you get that information, all the guitar parts for a track. Are you transposing them, or do you use an APP or site? I'm transposing, but at 4hrs a day I'm running out of practice and tone time. Any advice would be great. Thanks.
This is awesome. I'm borrowing someone's Helix Stomp XL for this sunday coming and started learning this song last night. This only shows me I've a LOOOOOONNNNGGG way to go! (I've only learnt the intro / turnaround, but tried to chordify it, as I'll be the only Electric Guitarist. It kinda works, but I can't tremolo pick to save my life. So it's gonna be a challenge but this song is brand new to me but also brilliant! Thanks for sharing your help.
Watching you play, it's different then the tabs for this I got from guitar tabs. I'm doing open audition for our church worship team in 2wks. Trying to nail it.
I have a pedalboard similar to the one you have in the back. I am at that point of do I go with the Helix to get more tone options and ease of use. Having spent thousands on pedals over the years, I now need more tone options and don't want to spend more $. Do you recommend the Helix?
Thanks for the tutorial, acoustic player having to play this song this weekend - lol! Trying to put as much on this song as I can, we'll see how stripped down it'll be by Sat practice! ** Real question, for the preset, has it been updated for the 2.6 firmware update? Thanks.. Running a PRS SE P90/HB, Helix 2.6.. Any other suggestions welcome! Thanks, Rob
A Bigsby is unstable. Nature of the beast. I just deal with it. You learn little things here and there that help, but nothing completely solves the issue.
Thanks for this video Troy, I'm playing this song this upcoming weekend and I'll definitely try out the new chorus in our arrangement. Two questions for you. 1. Are you using stock cabs or IRs for the Helix? 2. Is the capo used for the new chorus and the other parts adapted around that or was this in a different key than the original? We're playing the song in A so just curious how that effects how I transpose. Thanks for your time.
Guitar for HIS Glory: that’s funny you say that. I’ve been looking at those p/u for my Les Paul classic. When I was listening to you play, even through my iPhone...you sound so good. You solidified my thought process of what pick ups to put in my Gibson. I run direct at church and I need a set of pickups that will cut through. Thank you for your time and all you videos you put out. Blessings bro.
Good morning sir. You played very nice, clean and simple. Nice one. Just wondering how much is it to build a decent setup for lead guitar? Budget friendly? And is there any budget guitar you coukd recommend? Thanks alot. by the way, Im sorry I cant address you right. I don't know your real name sir.
Guitar for HIS Glory Thank you for responding Troy. I appreciate it a lot. But upon checking line 6 helix, its quite expensive for me. Is there any alternative you could recommend. Thank you sir
Ryan Whitley Thanks. Ahmm. Actually I saw a cheap multi effetcs pedal here in youtube. It's called zoom g3xn if I'm not mistaken. But I not sure if its a good one.
mike helland I don’t off-hand. But if you’re really in need of a tab for that part, shoot me an email at Troy at guitarforhisglory dot com and we can chat about it.
Set helix to also send the signal to a "Send".. plug the tuner into that send, no need to return.. tuner will be on all the time.. Still need to mute vol with the vol pedal.. I suppose you could make a Snapshot that is "tuner" where the send only gets the signal.. I just use the volume pedal..
Good thing there's a fast forward option. LOL. ;) I have relationships with many of the subscribers, so these videos are more than just a "here's the parts, see ya later." I like to interact and to share.
In your opinion, this is not lead. Different strokes! Lead = First. Melody, hooks, etc. It's not always blazing fast playing, or solo-style instrumentals. Keep that in mind. :)
I see your point, I don't think you're seeing mine. Traditionally in rock and popular music, even country, when multiple guitar players are in a band there is a "lead" designation and a "rhythm" designation. For example. In Metallica Kirk Hammet is the "lead" player, Hetfield is the rhytm player. In GNR Slash is the "lead" player, Stradlin is "rhythm" There are literally thousands of examples of this. The difference between the two is that the "lead" player handles solos and the "rhythm" player handles chords, single and double lines etc. Technically you might have a point but in traditional and practical musical parlance what you are calling lead is not what is generally understood as "lead" or a "lead" player. P&W tends to be disconnected from the mainstream musical world, hence my original comments. I have been a P&W player for 15 years and a "lead" player for thirty so I am very familiar with how this is looked at from the Christian and secular sides. All that being said, you did a nice job on the video.
Thanks, Mark. I think you're swinging the pendulum too far. In the context of corporate P&W, (song meant for the congregation to sing as a body) this is about as lead as it gets. The other guitar parts in the song are handling the rhythm. It is a bit different from rock and roll, yes; but, I still believe you would classify the guitar handling the melody, hooks, etc., as the lead guitar. Shouldn't matter if they're blazing pentatonic or harmonic minor scale solos, like the bands/guitarists you mention. We could probably debate all day on this, but I'm sure we'd rather not. LOL. Thanks for the compliment. Have a great day, bro!
mark bostic I see what you’re saying but I think it’s not really worth making an argument about, this is a lead to me as well as many players. Both genres have great guitarists that do certain things well. Most of what I play in PW is a combo of both by necessity and the fact we are disconnected form mainstream style wise is maybe a good thing:)
This song will never get old to me. LOVE playing this one. What do you think of the Line 6 Helix? Pretty convincing if you ask me!
Dude that sounds killer - - on your guitar what gauge \ brand string are you you using? I know you play some high end guitars so I wanted your opinion on this guitar - - www.balaguerguitars.com/product/the-growler/ - - have you heard of these?
Elixir 10-46, nanoweb. That link isn't working at the moment. Just perpetually loads. ??
Guitar for HIS Glory do you know if the line 6 helix patches you have are compatible with the line 6 hx?

Wow ! Bro God has blessed you!! !! I’m going to have to watch this a lot to see what all your hitting here!! Sounds amazing !!
Just got my Helix. Will def be buying some of your presets. You’re a beast, Troy!
Hope you enjoy them, brother. 🎸 😀
That dive at the end! 😍
Hahaha. Fun stuff.
Beautiful work!
Thanks a lot
Really digging the production of your videos
Thanks, Manuel. Invested in some quality gear, so it's nice to hear it's coming across well.
Absolutely love that Veritas!
My main squeeze for 5 years.
Watching you play, it's different then the tabs for this I got from guitar tabs. I'm doing open audition for our church worship team in 2wks. Trying to nail it.
Love the 'new' chorus!
I know, right?! What a cool part.
Much better than the version on my channel, people y’all should watch this one!
5:35 😱🤩

You'd love the Helix or the Kemper. I have both and am very pleased.

I replied on the comment you left on the website.
Dude so good!!!
Do you have this preset for this song for HX Stomp? I bought the HX Stomp Amp Bundle from your website.
Hello there. I don’t offer song-specific presets for the Stomp. Sorry, bro!
I regret my post. Your lesson is fantastic.
loli302 😂😂
Sounding good. Just wondered if you've had any problems with tuning stability with the Bigsby and if so how you fixed it. Thanks!
A Bigsby is unstable. Nature of the beast. I just deal with it. You learn little things here and there that help, but nothing completely solves the issue.

We're playing the song in A so just curious how that effects how I transpose. Thanks for your time.
1. Stock cabs.
2. Capo is so I can make the big F5 shape easier. If you’re playing in A, you’ll just play a huge E5. No capo needed. :)
You sounded so good. What’s pickups are in your guitar? Thank you
Jay Lamb I use Lambertones Cremas.

My name is Troy. Buy a Line 6 Helix. Done and done.
Guitar for HIS Glory Thank you for responding Troy. I appreciate it a lot. But upon checking line 6 helix, its quite expensive for me. Is there any alternative you could recommend. Thank you sir
Ryan Whitley Thank you for responding Ryan. Do you have any recommendation on a budget Multi-effects pedal?
Ryan Whitley Thanks. Ahmm. Actually I saw a cheap multi effetcs pedal here in youtube. It's called zoom g3xn if I'm not mistaken. But I not sure if its a good one.
Look into the line 6 firehawk fx, its a budget friendly option and works great, at least for me.
Todd, I never have... but just wondering... why CAPO 1? Thanks, Bruce
Bruce, it’s Troy. 😉 The big F chord sounds better if I play like a big open E5.
Do you have presets for a Headrush or a GT-1000?
I don't. Sorry, brother.
What amps in the Helix are you using for this?
Usually an AC30 or Matchless.
Do you have tabs for the chorus licks on 12th fret? Can’t quite seem to match video.
mike helland I don’t off-hand. But if you’re really in need of a tab for that part, shoot me an email at Troy at guitarforhisglory dot com and we can chat about it.
Will the patch you created work with the line 6 stomp as well ?
Nope. Too many blocks.
Guitar for HIS Glory gaaah! Ugh ;)
Is the white pedal on the board to your left an upgraded version of the one on the wall to your right?
Nah. It's actually a white King of Tone.
Also killer sound
Thanks, Derek.
Can you please do a tutorial on Reckless Love by Cory Asbury?
Nathan, I don't have plans to do that song. Thanks for the request!
How do you unplug guitars silently in a live application with helix? Connect external tuners?
Turn the volume pedal down or engage the tuner.
Yacky yak...

Only in praise and worship music would this be called a lead. LOL! Brewster does leads. Keaggy does leads. This is not a lead.
In your opinion, this is not lead. Different strokes! Lead = First. Melody, hooks, etc. It's not always blazing fast playing, or solo-style instrumentals. Keep that in mind. :)

Timmy.
