The property that I grew up on had 3 of them and in my lifetime (53 years) they have bloomed 3 times and they always all bloomed at the same time. Watch the movie Tombstone just after the scene where Doc Holiday mocks Johnny Ringo by twirling his shot glass on his finger. When Wyatt and the lady are riding their horses, they ride through an entire field of them all blooming.
It is, but a different variety. This plant is called "agave" or "maguey" and it's native to Mexico. The one used for producing tequila is called "agave Azul" (blue agave).
HELP!!! Please LOL 😂 I have watched 4 videos and keep searching for footage of the actual flower in bloom, they say it's bright yellow 🌼 If anyone is able to find video of a follow up/update with the woman's century plant flower bloomed, please please share 💝 I came across this story insanely late but I am still invested nonetheless 😅 I hope someone can help me find it! If I come across the updated footage, I will edit this comment and add the link for others wanting to see this woman and her plant's journey 😊
She sounds like a great person in fact... a giving person that tended to a tiny plant for several decades.
Good job Linda ! Its a amazing sight for sure.
Linda seems like a very delightful and very articulate person

Why would someone say its ugly?
Shouldn’t this be called a quarter to half century plant since it lives, grows, seeds and dies within 25-40 years?
In another video they said 35 - 40 years. Why can't they just say 30 years
Huh?? Because it's 35 to 40 years duh
Tell me you are American without saying it .
slow news day... lol.
