The things is player damage reduction is resilience, people just don't like calling it that because it's not Classic. The problem is SoD took a whole bunch of offensive spells from later expansions and barely any defensive ones. Devs now have to deal with the unintended consequences of having to balance a Frankenstein monster of spells outside design environment they were initially intended for.
That was kinda evident from the start and im not sure if they wanted to see how it plays out or didnt think about PvP entirely considering PvP in classic is pretty alive bonus the PvP events and the usual WPVP in the lively world. It was gonna be a shjtfest from the start without PTR to test the values of certain runes theyve added and they just keep on adjusting them but seems like they gotta dumb down on it. Yeah i also thought they'd introduce resi on the PvP Gear they introduced in P3 but welp who knows might come back for P4 if its looks fun i kinda ditched SoD at the end of P2.
I think 20% melee and 30% ranged damage reduction would be sweet spot cause it would be close to classic pvp that was bursty, and make balance with casters and melees situation
Melees are way worse than any caster. It should be the other way around. Especially shamans rip anyone apart in a few global cooldowns. Even with the dmg reduction, they were still able to kill other players with ease. Tremor, slow totem, earth shock (6s cd), dmg from just auto attacking and high mobility. They are over the top and unbalance the game the most.
Spot on takes. Most world pvp felt like one side gave up because there was no more mana left and just gave up. I liked having the longer bouts to allow for more "strategy" to unfold. Also seems like poeple just want to one shot and feel powerful.
@@StevenBonez I mean... this "fun" and "balance" arguments are older than WoW itself. People always cried about balance, gear too hard to get etc... Look at retail, besides DH being DH, WoW was never as balanced and it was never easier to get gear or to reroll. Literally the best balance between healers we ever had and they are fun to play too. Pretty much same goes for DPS, everything is viable, yet we have the least PvP participation ever. In fact, the grindier the game was, the more people we had playing. Every single season in Shadowlands had more people participating, while we had huge balance issues there, really ANNOYING AF bs to get legendaries and gear was tied to rating. The majority of people needs and wants the grind. Every previous expansion basically proved it. Cata pre patch is broken af right now and you still have 1-2 minutes queues. Purpose > everything.
I actually like the damage reduction. In bgs all casters are pretty OP against melee. You cant just run in there balls deep and no expect to get the whole team to turn on you. Personally I feel spriest and boomy are fine but hunters are more of a problem for me as enh shaman. If anything they need to buff casters for pve and buff melee in pvp. Gutting spriest/boomy is a terrible idea bc they're damage in pve is so weak.
Save pvp? Give us a reason to pvp. If people can run Molten core and have the same survivability as pvp gear then what's the point. Want damage reduction? put it on pvp gear imo. Give us a tier 1 pvp set and when Blackwing lair releases rated battlegrounds for our tier 2 pvp set. That will keep people interested in pvp till the end of sod.
I just feel like putting resilience on the gear would be too much like the expansions, part of the fun in vanilla is that there’s so many different sets you can use. Sure there’s power creep from like aq40 and naxx but before that there’s so many sets to use that are all pretty good
Change is ass. Still get bursted and now we are punished even more for trying to play normal ret. Waiting 3.5 secs to swing for a normal 200 white hit sucks lmao
Shamans need a nerf. Paladins are no where near as good as shamans, which tips the scales significantly to Horde favor in PvP. Horde already has much better PvP racials.
lol the crying over spriest and boomies is kind of cringe. your idea to just nerf everything into the ground is small minded. have a solution. maybe have dots go away if you die or have some kind of ramp up. what i find hilariously comical is your example of a spriest is of shobek killing them in a couple seconds giving them time to cast 2 spells which were the 2 dots. maybe not have starsurge cause starfire to deal 80% more damage, but instead cause your next 2 starfire to hit 3 nearby enemies or next 2 wraths deal 60% more damage.
Saying nerf a class because they dont do pve damage anyway, or that nobody likes them is unproductive and childish. Maybe phrase it as " dots do less in pvp" because thats the issue with spriests. videos like this are unreasonable and show the lack of actual thought that could be brought into a video. I do agree with however, 50% reduction is too much and that somewhere between 20-30% is probably going top be the ticket. overall this was an annoying use of my time
@@StevenBonez I get it, im with you, I hate fighting them aswell. But just as a content maker, lets strive to bring realistic change suggestions. IDK, maybe im just an old man (34) but putting effort into making a video should be productive. I think making realistic suggestions is more likely to catch Blizzards attention. If its even possible to get them to listen to their consumers ideas. One can only hope. But I don't think random spewing of hate ideas is really going to do anything. Maybe this content just isn't for me.

Yea I normally don’t want resilience in a vanilla season but SoD needs it lol

Its not about the classes but the runes need to be nerf specially the one that does damage imo
Yea for sure, that’s kinda what I meant by class balance, they gotta fix some stuff for sure
I think 20% melee and 30% ranged damage reduction would be sweet spot cause it would be close to classic pvp that was bursty, and make balance with casters and melees situation
just add the reduction to shamans, druids, and spriests. easy
They did exactly what i want lol, we would have 30% damage reduction for magic and 20% for melee, one question what happen to hunters tho

Yea we just need that good middle ground between the two burst but make the fights actual fights haha
WotLK is 60% reduction from resilience btw.
I don't play SoD but from what I heard it suffers the same issue retail does: There is no reason to PvP
Ahh, I know tbc was like 30% I think I couldn’t remember, and yea if it was more fun the PvP would be sick, we will see how the game gets balanced

Spriests and boomkins not even close to shamans. First of all nerf them and make faction balance a thing at all
Shamans need a nerf. Paladins are no where near as good as shamans, which tips the scales significantly to Horde favor in PvP. Horde already has much better PvP racials.

I was half serious and half joking about that lol
Spriest dots do need to be nerfed specifically in pvp, that shit is cancer. Anyone saying otherwise is on some serious copium.
@@girthpapi Guess we need some chemo.
says a class that loses 10% hp against every player able to almost kill everything without 5 seconds, paladins needs to be nerfed
All melee basically suck in large scale fights for the most part wpvp and duels are different sure

Sorry I just can’t stand shadow priest and boomy in SoD lol
