@Arda Şen Also ya I remember learning about this though. Wasn't it seen though as a bad thing for all sides? I mean, 56,000 Ottomans and 56,000 British Empire soldiers died in the fighting all for nothing to happen in the battle as the British would just go around to take over the Ottoman Empire. Also the USA wasn't involved in the war until 1918 which was way after this so I don't really know the history too well.
@Arda Şen The Battle of Baku should be more celebrated in Turkey. It was with Russia against the ottomans. The Russians defeated the Ottomans in every single battle except for the final one where the ottomans finally won due to the Russian revolution occurring and Azerbaijan was set up. WW1 was a pretty sad war because a lot of people died really for nothing because WW2 would start just 20 years after
@Arda Şen I mean, both sides of the war suffered 56,000 deaths for no territorial change. Also the British would later on invade the Ottoman Empire from the South and later occupied Istanbul/Constantinople. It wasn't until after the war, when all allied troops and British troops left that the Turkish War of Independence started where a smaller number of Greek and Armenian soldiers with the backing of France fought the larger new Turkish army. The battle wasn't as significant cause it really didn't change anything. There are other battles which Turkey fought which actually made changes to their country and Azerbaijan.
As a NATO country, I really don't think you could count Greece as a Russian ally.
