DAILY AND YEAR LONG FANTASY HOCKEY ANALYSIS
5v5hockey.com - Спорт
People are giving up on the Yzerplan when he only has three of his draft picks on the team and contracts still coming off the books. Where this team was left by Holland; four years isn’t enough time to get us out of that position. I think Stevie has done a great job and anybody giving up on him are impatient.
If you live in the moment I understand people's frustration but Yzerman has been pretty up front about where he thinks this team is and what the plan is going forward
Wings will be in the playoffs next season 6 or 7th seed.
@@HealthyScratchRedWingsReport These people are the same people who turned on Yzerman as a player before the Stanley Cup wins.
The Red Wings have players who have contracts with multiple years, still on their contracts. They can trade them, for the right price. They are also getting cap space from the end of Vrana's retained contract.
I have a few guys on my list that I would try to ship out if I was Yzerman
Out of all of the podcasts, you are the only one to me that makes sense. I totally agree with 99% of what you said. However, I think Lalonde will be on an extremely short leash this upcoming season. I'm definitely not a fan of a coach who barely praises a player who's made SIGNIFICANT progress in his game and then turns around and mentions, btw he was a minus 12. Thanks for reading my comment....if you did.
I read them all! I appreciate the kind words, I definitely try to take the rational approach most times. Lalonde will need to listen to Yzerman's words carefully. Stevie didn't mention the coaching staff fixing problems for nothing!
Detroit Red Wing doesn't need another 7 years Blashill hockey. Lalonde needs to find pizazz and get some nads, Newsy!
I appreciate your take on patrick kane's comments. Way too many articles and comments about kane not coming back, without nuance or understanding. Players of Patrick kane's ilk ( star power and longevity) understand how to negotiate through the media. Yzerman called kane's comments reserved ( which they were ) but also honest in my opinion. Kane told everyone what he's looking for, and what's important on his next contract. That was a message to the leagues GMs, including yzerman.
I personally dont think he comes back, but it's not the forgone conclusion most are making it out to be.
Regarding goaltending, I'm certain Lyon is the only gaurentee for next year. I think yzerman and lalonde are saying all the right things when it comes to husso, incase they arnt able to move on from him and upgrade. Husso is still under contract for 1 more year, so when they speak they er on the side of caution.
My gut tells me yzerman will be in on markstrom, ullmark, saros and could attach a draft pick to send husso's 4.7 mil to San Jose or something.
I think holl is getting bought out, and I think one more defenseman gets moved out ( my gut tells me petry if they can find a feasible way )
This makes room to bring back ghost as well as space for edvinsson and Albert Johansson.
Edvinsson succeeding in his time this year makes it more comfortable icing two rookie defenders.
Yzerman acknowledged they are close to being a cap team, so what a player provides vs what he is paid matters much more going forward.
Cant be paying matta 3 mil to be the 7th dman, kasper, mazur and danielson pushing for spots sooner than later makes copp a trade candidate.
As much as I like what copp brings, the line with fish and rass as a shut down/energy line but not at 5.6 million.
For roster turnover/trades these are the thoughts I'm sure yzerman is having.
I really appreciate how thorough you were! I honestly agree with pretty much all of this in some way.
Sick studio
lol i try
Overall very positive interviews. I like how they both were very adamant about fixing things and improving for next year. All about growth.
lol what do you want them to say
@@davidkruse4030 umm. What the did say
I have some issues with Lalonde but he’s only had 2 seasons, with not great rosters to work with. That being said, considering the issues I have, and he’s only got one year left on contract, keep him into next year, but if we aren’t in the playoff picture (within 5 pts of wildcard) when December rolls around, they have to let him go. Can’t afford to waste a season
I think he's developing as a head coach and just like a player I hope he continues to get better because that means the team gets better!
What really interests me with all the top player contracts, what is it going to cost to secure , long term, Seiter and Raymond?
I’m going to guess around 8-8.5 but who knows really. I did a few videos at the beginning of the year with contract comparable and that was the price of players of the same caliber
@@HealthyScratchRedWingsReportthat’s a lot dude lol. They’re not quite there yet.
It won’t be any less than 7.5 for either of them, no matter what the term is.
Yzerman can pull off a 5.5 million a year for 4 years
@@RedWingsFanClub I agree
That’s why I don’t respect Lalonde. He’s a man always telling you what he thinks you want to hear, a world where no player has any flaws. You can’t trust a man that can’t be honest with himself. He definitely won’t be honest with you.
Literally every coach is like that. Flaws are addressed in private. You know if a coach said anything bad, it’s going viral. Quick way to lose a player or locker room
@@MrHunterbg literally not every coach is like that. But okay.
The way he is with the media and fans is definitely not how he is with players. And we will never know those specifics. These interviews will never reveal much, and people for some reason think there will be definitive answers
Lalonde does deserve some criticism, but I’d give him one more year.
Yzerman can't afford it.
@@tokiburoak7457 Is that based on payroll? Explain it.
@@tokiburoak7457 Is this based on payroll? Give me an insight on that.
When they had a couple of awful losing streaks and Larkin was hurt it tells me coach isn't motivating them Larkin is
And his losing mentality after the losses when talking to the press
I personally would get rid of him now and that may be why Stevie can't afford another year with him because ultimately its going to make him look bad
@@jacobfolkringa8676you don’t know how the players feel about Lalonde though. A coach firing can obviously shake up the locker room. This team improved this year too so it’s not like Lalonde failed at his job.
It’s not the goals when Larkin was out of the lineup, the team had a completely different persona. It is plainly obvious, Larkin provides the energy that sets the tone for the team. Too many vets to play subpar when the captain is hurt and out. They need to fix this issue
I agree with you, I was just commenting on what Lalonde and Yzerman mentioned when Larkin was out
Yzerplan! yzerplan! Yzerplan!
Too many veterans on a team that's supposed to be coming out of a rebuild. Something's wrong here
Those contracts (some of them I'm not a fan of) expire around the time that some of these prospects are projected to be ready
Berggren is not an NHL player. Too small, too slow not gonna make the team. He'll be traded.
He had 15 goals last season in the bottom six. He murdered the AHL this year. He played well in his games in Detroit. To suggest he isn't an NHL player makes no sense
So sad.
The legendary Redwings couldn’t even make the playoffs.
Pathetic!
They have a top prospect pool thanks to yzerman. It was bone dry when he got here.
They may have had the most 20 goal scorers but not a single one was in the top 50 scorers in the league.
Couple that with a bottom 10% defense/goalkeeping and you’re going to have a hard time making the playoffs.
I am not buying the Yzerplan anymore
please prove me wrong Steve
Ok but why lol
Patrick Kane wont take less then 4.5 a year for 2 or 3 years.
I would give him that easily
