This whole album is like, Tom wishing he hadn't done that whole country thing during the dubstep era.
I'd say 80% of this album's very good, not what I expected, this one's in the 20% column..
I don't know if people who like this song even realize how much of the same lyrics are repeated through out this song. I pretty much only hear "Where it's at ain't what it is" and "You can't hold me/us down" over and over again. This is one of the big problems with modern music, just repeat the same lyrics over and over, and people will love it for some reason. This song is to be honest very dumb.

dude I love Tom and I love Gary Clark Jr (no idea who the other one is), but this song doesn't capture anything that either of those 2 men do well... I dunno what to make of this other than it does nothing for me... it's like you took some of the greatest guitar players alive and made a DJ track on which neither of them actually feature their playing. weird production choice.

I'm the "other one" on this lol... it sounds like you guys were expecting something totally different, which is understandable considering both Gary and Tom's history. But if you haven’t watched any of the interviews where Tom talks about the reasons he wanted to make this particular album, then I highly suggest you do that in order to better understand why songs like this live on this record. If you simply don’t like it because it’s not what you’re used to or because you don't like the genre, then that's a different story lol. Cheers!

and I appreciate that Tom wants to push himself to try new things as an artist which might be outside of his usual forte. aside from country music, I listen to everything, so it's not the genre I'm taking issue with. believe me when I say that I want to enjoy this, but it's just not hooking me, and I think it has a lot to do with the overall repetitive nature of the track. from the lyrics to the beat itself; it's a little too redundant. and for such a collaboration (on paper), the end result is underwhelming. it doesn't seem to warrant the talents or abilities of the featured artists. maybe it will grow on me at some point.
